Alright so I've been on the server a few times but never stayed overall only around a week combined, Anyway that was a while ago and I decided to actually play this server so it's been 3 days.

Day1: Starting off, I had around 110k when I started by the end of the day I had 40k. I had bought a truck license got myself a zamack? and decided to go do aluminium. Did 2 runs with no issues and had 400k in the bank. Went to the airport and got a M900 and flew around for abit, decided to land in kavala car park and it got crushed my police (This one is my stupidity added cause its funny) So 200k down went back got a second heli managed to crash it. Beaten but not yet broken I headed back to kavala and decided to do another alum run. Halfway through selling I hear "Put your hands on your head, Don't move or you will be shot. Drop everything and give us the keys" dropped my gear they took the truck I was broke, and called it a day.

Day2: Logged on, Found out that my heli saved (the one I crashed yesterday) was happy about that. Went to kavala got a cheap truck (idk name) used all my cash and took a gamble and boy did it pay off. Did 4 runs got enough to get a 2nd zamack? did 4 runs it no problem had some talks with other people doing the same pretty chill. With 800k in the bank I decided it was time to get real... Alum wasn't cutting it no more. Checked out the market and found that uranium was 20k per (rod?) and was set. Asked around in chat and got myself a rad suit and a pick took my m900 flew to the unmc border had a small talk with the border patrol and got a pass. Also decided it was time to get some firepower. Stopped by the blackmarket got max level gear, a rifle and flew the rad town got myself some unstable uranium processed it and sold it... 400k in 30mins was insane double Double what I was making with alum. did 2 more runs and by the end of it I had 1.3M in the bank and got myself a house, and flew to the blackmarket to buy some spare gear to store. Flew back stored it turns out I can't store mags unless pay 5M, (Pissed bout this one) anyways stock up on gear have around 300k left after this. What do I do? Another uranium run ofc nothing could go wrong. Except getting robbed at the seller and losing my heli. With 300k left in the bank. Went in all or nothing got another heli and did another run safely stored the cash and flew to the blackmarket to get some gear. Went in got my gear and went to go out. 5guys in blue rob me. Lose all that gear great... Run the my heli and get the hell away. Waited 30mins getting late so I decide to go quickly get gear and log off for another day, I land get out and get again swarmed by a gang who kidnap me and take me to some docks. After talking for a bit they gave me a choice. If I can headshot one of their gang members in 1shot with a zubr from 50m? I could get 500k or a heli if not well... You can guess. Being one for a challenge I take it and managed to do and they honoured it got myself 500k . got the gear and logged off.

Day3: Logged on in kavala, Planning to do an alum run, Got robbed selling. So back to the blackmarket to get more gear and fly back. Got myself a hatchback sport, and took it for a joyride. Along the way met a Police Checkpoint. 70K fine Lost my guns. Back the the blackmarket get more gear and go back to kavala. Went to the motors shop to check the price of a hemtt box (275k) About to run back and got robbed right there. Back to the blackmarket I go (this is a common theme as you can tell) more gear back in kavala now more determined than ever. Got a Hemtt got alum was just leaving the processor and (You have been kicked) Logged back on ran back just to see a hobo lockpick my truck and take it, called the cops nothing happened. So theres almost 300k gone in 30mins (Thanks server) and that brings us to now. I really don't know.

Day4: Logged on with a friend found out my hemtt saved went to do an alum run (Had a legal pistol) got robbed called police just before but never came eh you win some you lose most, Another update just got shot while putting my hands up and about to bleed out rip my gear.

Please note this focused mainly on the bad parts which there was tons and hours of grinding gone for no reward at all.

Few examples are.

Crashed in a wall outside of kavala, medic came and healed me, very next day with the same car I did it again and the same medic showed up.

Going 300mph outside of kavala (No wonder I crash alot) I scrapped past a police car. Decided to pull over. Had some nice RP and just got a Fine

~you forget to take into account you got yourself trucks, and helis so thats a investment

There does seem to be grinding involved in your few days on the island but then everyone on here has too at some point or like myself still do , i actually enjoy doing the legal runs and getting to interact with new islanders and listening to their stories . Yes you are going to get robbed its inevitable its how you approach and accept the fact you will, That will make your time on the island fun . My only advice would be i never personally wear or carry anything expensive when doing legal runs as its makes no sense if i get robbed to lose gear for a legal run . 

If the problem is that you constantly get robbed why don't you consider applying to join a gang that way you have safety in numbers. 

I think the issue is that some of the gangs who are playing on the server are robbing hobos for stupid reason. They are not picking on gangs bases or trying to rob someone who is doing cannabis or heroin. They are going for the easy way out. I watched 1 gang yesterday have 10 guys at least jump out and rob a hobo with a zamack he has no gun or anything. I would love to ask where is the fun in that

Your experience sounds very similar to my first week playing Altis Life.  I learned quickly that whilst you can play solo, it's not a solo mans game if you're looking to make money doing runs.  I was robbed multiple times doing apples FFS! You can of course 'hobo' it making sure you never travel with anything you can't afford to lose, but where's the fun in that right?

The island is full of criminals and they feed on the areas they know people will go with valuable cargo. If they see you alone, then it's pay day and you get to experience that sinking feeling of one step forward and two steps back.  Whilst it can be frustrating / annoying / a pain in the arse, you just need to remind yourself that this is essentially how Altis Life is set up.

My advice to you is, don't do runs alone. Find some like minded friends who have the firepower to deal with robbers when they arrive. Be smart. Have your guys set up so they can overwatch the process and be prepared to deal with anyone who's out to piss on your parade. Or, rather than spend time building a group of friends, join an existing gang.

Keep in mind, we the police are here to try and prevent you from doing illegal activities so whilst the payout is better, the risk is greater.

Or do what I did. As someone who joined solo, and realising there where robbers around every corner, I joined the police 1 week after joining the server.  I've never looked back. Being in the police allowed me to learn about the server whilst having the protection of a whole faction, and a good pay check at the same time. Very soon I had amassed over 10 mil simply by playing the game.   Of course you're limited to legal activities when in the police, but since you're making money simply by patrolling, there's not a great deal you need to spend that cash on. The most important thing I gained was lots of friends. 

Another good career choice is the NHS where you can enjoy the game, RP and make money without risk of being robbed or killed. You can also participate in illegal activities whilst off duty. Being in the NHS allows you to learn where the hot spots tend to be and you'll gain an understanding of where the criminals like to prey. Each person you revive will usually tell you what happened to them so you can build up a picture of what's going on on the island in terms of hostility.

Main thing is mate, don't give up. Once you push through the virgin phase, the game opens up a lot.

Don’t take illegal weapons with you on runs until you can have backup to help you against the police, if need be ask the police to escort you or find a friendly gang or people and pay them some of the cash earnt. Don’t worry it gets better after time. 

Also I think that people who rob hobos not gangs or illegal runs are scum imo as it does put people off the server.
