Jedediah grew up in a village located in the northern mountains of Altis. He lived a simple life with his father and mother. Jedediah’s father was a car mechanic and was loved by the locals. Jedediah’s mother was a seamstress and she owned a small boutique located in the southern part of the village.

As a boy Jedediah was very adventurous. He loved to play hide and seek with his friend Kalle. But his favorite activity was hiking over to the nearby cocainfield to spy on the gatherers. They would bring their binoculars and sit on top of the mountain spying for hours on end. For most of the time they would see a few people per hour. But sometimes, military grade trucks, would park up and collect for several hours. They watched as the men in green carried tonnes of coca leaves to their trucks. Kalle would tell Jedediah that he wanted to become one of them one day. Jedediah, naive as he was, agreed. Why wouldn’t they? They were just boys. They didn’t know better. To them, the men in green where simply farmers in cool clothing.

One day, when the boys sat at the top of their hill, something extraordinary happened. Two large trucks carrying containers rolled up and 8 men jumped out. They were wearing the all too familiar green clothing. The boys were incredibly excited. They had never seen so many at the same time. But as they continued watching the men Jedediah got a weird feeling in his abdomen. Something wasn’t right. He looked at Kalle and could see that he too was at unease. They both grabbed their binoculars to get a closer look at what was going on.

After only a few seconds Jedediah could see that none of the men where carrying any plants. They just stood there. Looking. Suddenly Jedediah could feel a cold breeze creep down his spine. The men in green weren't just looking anywhere. They were looking at him.

The boys instantly dropped their binoculars and started running back up the hill. As they looked back they could see the men jumping into their trucks and started their engines.

Once back at the village, Jedediah ran straight to his father. His father could see the distress in his eyes’. “Son, what happened?” he asked. “The men in green! They saw us!” Jedediah said as he was trying to catch his breath.

His father jumped out of the chair and looked Jedediah straight in the eyes’.”Grab your teddy bear and go to basement” he said with a fearful look on his face. Jedediah had never seen his father this way before. To him, his father was a superman with no fear. But not this time, this time was different. Jedediah quickly found his bear and started running down the stairs to the basement. Right before he closed the door he looked up to see his father at the top of the stairs. “Don’t open for anyone, Okey?” he said with a serious tone. “I won't” Jedediah replied and closed the door.

Soon after chaos broke loose. Jedediah could hear gunshots and screaming. He felt so helpless. He just wanted everything to go back to normal. To be alright again. But deep down he knew that things would never be the same.

After what felt like forever it finally stopped. No more gunshots. No more screaming. Nothing. Some parts of him where relieved. He where okey. Suddenly he could hear footsteps above him. He could hear them come closer and closer until they were right outside the door. He watched the handle as it started moving. This is it, he thought. This is where I die.

With a hefty swing the door was opened and Jedediah was blinded by a bright light. For a brief moment it was like time was frozen. Jedediah looked straight into the light waiting for it all to be over. He didn’t feel scared for some weird reason. He welcomed it.

The light disappeared. Jedediah could see a face through the darkness. A friendly face. “Don’t be scared, you’re safe now” the man said and reached out his hand. Jedediah grabbed it and for the first time in what felt like forever he felt safe. As they made their way up and outside into the night sky Jedediah could see his former village in ruins. Everything he ever loved and cared for where gone. All his memories turned into ashes. As he moved towards the blue and red lights he made his decision. From this point on, he would dedicate his entire life to fighting the men in green. The men who destroyed everything he ever knew.
