Time for a new PC.

Student loans are fun.

Sooo I've got a spare bit of dough, and after months away from gaming I thought I'd get a new PC for when I'm home from Uni- All suggestions are welcome.

Here's my 'current' setup:

• Windows 8.1
  
• AMD A8 6600k (3.8 Ghz)
  
• Saphire R7 260X 
  
• 6GB RAM DDR3 
  
• 1TB Hard Drive
  
• Cooler Master 212 evo (CPU Cooler)
  

And this is what I've put together for my new machine so far:

• Windows 10
  
• Intel i7-7700k (quad core 4.2 Ghz)
  
• GEFORCE GTX 1070 TI (8GB)
  
• 16GB Corsair Vengeance DDR4 RAM (2666MHz)
  
• 1TB Hard Drive
  
• 240GB Kingston UV400 SSD
  
• Cooler Master Hyper 212X (CPU Cooler)
  

I've had my current PC for going on 5 years now, and originally built as a budget PC by someone who had absolutely no experience with computers, aside from the processor occasionally reaching boiling point, I think it's held up rather well.

Any suggestions on the new build?

Get Windows 98? It uses much less power than Windows 10 (I think xD)

Thats a really good build, not much I can say to improve it. That sweet i7 is gonna run Arma alot better compared to your old AMD one. Enjoy the new PC mate Im jealous

I did look at it, but at the time the jump in price from the 1070ti didn't seem worth it - I'll definitely have another gander though

Nice little build, SSD will do you wonders if your throwing the OS on it and then only using it for main games that you play. But if you do get an SSD strongly recommend Samsung’s Evo Series.

I almost got the same pc. I can tell you my experience:

It's great.

Short answer: yes. 

It's a 1280 x 1024 monitor, but I don't see it the way it looks on videos, it looks completely fine through the screen, just the rendering fucks it. Stretch-o-vision lives on
