HELP ME PICK OUT PC (£800)

Hello, I am Romly, I was born in Essex but I was made in the Altis Police.

Basically I have a budget of £800, I could go a bit more probably if I sat outside my public train station with a sign. 

I have been looking myself for ages but to be honest I don't no shit about what goes on inside the fucking thing. I just know that the higher the number usually the better. But unfortunately some computers cost as much as Queen Elisabeth the second's left slipper.

Please could someone with more knowledge school me on this and help me conclude and purchase a gaming box. Thank you.

ok best way to get good pc is look at yours self in financial way, you said got budget of £800, can you pay it off one time off or pay off monthly but it gonna cost little more through APR% this is the first steps looking into buying/ building a PC

Another key thing is are you including mouse, keyboard, headsets and monitors in that price or do you already have some to use? @Romly

Do you want a machine geared towards ARMA or gaming in general? This determines CPU/GPU budget balance.

Try this, but dont think ARMA will work here….

I'd suggest either going on pc part picker and reading some guides on the internet and then using that site to bulid something or you probs could just find a pc shop in your area, don't look for the big ones with huge stores and all that, rather look for one that has good reviews but is not one of these general electronics stores but rather a specialised pc buliding shop, if you give them a buged they should give you a few bulids, these small shops generally either dont charge for something like that or charge very little from my experience.

As I just built a new pc, I thought I would give my 3 cents here.  Of course, I wen't on the more expensive side, however, my methods were the same as if I were building a budget machine.

First, I had to deiced if I wanted a dedicated game machine, or a combo work-station/Game machine.

Second, once I made that decision, I listed the games I would be playing.  in addition, I wrote down all the base requirements to play said game(s)

Third, once I had that list, I went searching for all the parts I would need in a pc.  whether I bought one, or built one.  But that is were you need to know what parts work together, and what parts do not.  If your buying one off the shelf, they may be missing key components, if your building one, some parts play well together, some, not so well.  In addition, you need to find all those parts that fits in your budget.  It can be a bit mind numbing lol.

You also need to budget for a new monitor, keyboard, mouse, headset, etc.  etc.  You may already have those items...   

That said, there are a lot of new computers now for a reasonable price that will play most games with some degree of satisfaction.  Also, you can probably find a used PC that someone is selling because they bought, or built a new one.  If you d the shop thing, just be mindful that they are in the business of making money.  So what you may find in a shop, you could find on craigs list, or whatever used add platform you have available to you.

I'm just going to pay straight up. Also you need to be 18+ to pay monthly and I was born on a leap year so I'm legally 4.

No need to give me three cents thank you, you can keep them. I'll be paying for the PC in British Pounds Sterling anyway.

Upon extensive research (20 minuets on youtube) I've discovered that buying pre-built PC has nearly become a meme because they're almost always shit and not worth the price.

I'm under the impression that the minimum parts in order to enjoy yourself on games like Arma 3, Rust and Roblox is a GTX 1080 at least, and an i5 at least. I don't know shit about motherboards, only that only certain motherboards can only go with certain processors. Then all the other shit like power boxes and stuff. Blah blah, when the fuck can I play Arma for fuck sake. 

Anyway mister. Am I right about the previous parts mentioned being the minimum? Or can I upgrade certain parts that won't cost too much more?

When it comes to buying pre built PCs I can get scammed like an old lady giving her bank details on the phone. If it has LEDs I'll probably buy it. Could you recommend some parts?

Hi Aethon,

Mainly Arma yes. Some Rust, and basically my cousin comes round sometimes and he likes to play this Paw Patrol game. 

And I just got more work days so I might be able to splash some more cash.

Man I can't wait to play Paw Patrol.. let my cousin play Paw Patrol.

Well, as I'm keeping my 3 cents worth of information  lol.  I'll just say that you can probably play with a GTX 960 just fine with one screen.  As for the rest, I'm pretty sure an i5 would work, of course more is better. And as for upgrading parts, as long as they are compatible with the motherboard, you should be able to swap out parts reasonably inexpensively.

Oh and it wouldn't hurt to talk to few people in game that are using a lower end machine to get a better idea of exactly what will play well

I dont mean buying a prebulid, i mean getting a pc shop to pick parts and all that for you and put it together aswell, different then the shitty prebulids.

@Romly A website like PC Specialist (https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/custom-pc/) is a good place to look if you don't want to build it yourself. They mark the price up of course as they are doing the building etc but a very good in-between of building it yourself and buying a prebuilt!

I would say a  ryzen 5 2600 with an gtx 1660 should bringbu around 800dollars and great performance.

Okey man, thank you for the recommendation. This may help me in my goal of achieving my ultimate goal of acquiring a personal computer. Then afterwards I will stab my self in the diaphragm samari style because I would have reached my lifes peak.
