You don't even want to know how difficult it is to learn how to skin from scratch. But I am guessing he used Photoshop to edit the actual image. But to obtain the image, that is another question.

 
Be nice just to have the ifrit paint job actually paint the back of the ifrit instead of leaving it camo, I'd settle for that over this skin lol

Ah, the days when you could buy a fully Black and Red Ifrit :) Miss that skin, was very nice. Especially when you bashed people's heads in, in the redzone. Amazing times.
