What is it actually like in the Red Zone?

As a player, I actively avoid the illegal stuff as it's never interested me, so naturally the inclusion of the Red Zone means that there is a whole area filled with myths that I don't really fancy going to.

So, to all of you risk-takers, I ask - Whats it like?

In my mind, You will be in there and for no rhyme or reason.. BAM.. headshot. Also that 90% of people there are just people looking to kill - Either to up their bounty or just because they can.

When moving around, do you actively run from cover to cover? What is the Roleplay like in the area.. is there much of it?

I'd be interested to hear any cool stories that might give me a small insight into RedZone Life - By all means redact peoples names to protect the..well.. guilty...

My experience the one time I went.

Flying in my helicopter near an outpost, bang headshot.

Never been back.

I do try to RP as much as possible in the redzone, but usually that boils down to yelling at the last survor of the guys camping the outpost that if he comes out and sticks his hands up he can take his friends guns and can leave unharmed. Most of them still choose the hard way out though...

You only want to go there as a gang, people hide in rooms and when you start buying, they come and boom, your dead and they steal 300k. I go to UNMC instead as its much safer especially on server 2 but does take about 5 mins longer to gear up than what it would at rebel.

If you are looking to go into the Red Zone to simply buy gear and not look for kills then the UNMC are always very helpful when it comes to this. Last night I went to their checkpoint and spoke to them regarding this matter, and it turned out they were planning on 'clearing' out the area anyway to allow people to come in and buy gear (for a small fee of 50k).

If you want to know what it's like, the only experience I have is from last night when I was up in the helicopter with a couple UNMC personnel and they were scouting around with thermals. Surrounding the rebel outpost were about 3-4 campers, and as far as I'm aware there were some people inside the base itself which the UNMC took care of.

Like most people have the UNMC is more viable option for buying although you cannot buy rebel clothing there so if you want ghillies and vests you will have to go to the red zone and in terms of roleplay as expected there barely most people sit on top of hills picking people off in groups then go to down and take their gear

Can The people Who go to The unmc base/fob explain to me why they think that's okay? I feel like it's exploiting tbh. and don't say:" well, I can." Give me a RP explanation please.

You don't even need to pay 50k, I've been to the UNMC about 15-20 times without being caught even on server 1 and I paid nothing

My RP story would be I have an inside friend in the UNMC who gets me gear much safer than what it would at rebel outpost

See this is a good one, I like the "people on the inside" idea, I use it quite a lot but only when the person that I know on the "inside" (police/rebel/NHS/UNMC) is online. But not to get gear directly from someone's store.

Your friend in the inside gave you an ID card which says your a UNMC member and you can get your gear from here

make the most of it as very soon no non unmc personal will be able to take weapons from our armoury , so you will have to risk the red zone

Getting the impression that it's a - You go in, there's a very good chance you'll be shot. Unless escorted by a gang who are armed to the teeth and have thermal imaging. Even then, its still likely you'll be shot at.

How about stories from the other point of view? Any people who camp in the area and snipe as many people as possible?

Pretty much this is it, I've got a few friends who camp the area inside for easy money and fair enough it works and if we need gear we atleast know the inside area is clear to buy we'd also take a hellcat just to scan the area for snipers. (of which is very common, especially on the hill of diddymos or whatever it's called). I've yet to actually enter the red zone with nobody there currently.

The RP is pretty much non-existent although I notice some people try to although it's always better in my opinion to leave nobody alive when buying your gear, common spots for camping are the rebel outpost and scrap yard just look for noticeable features like rocks and good sightline areas and they'll probably be somebody there.

Anyone around who sits in there and snipes? and stories? there's no Judgement here at all, as it's within the rules - Its pure curiosity.

Is it pure luck that you can get to the hill in the 1st place?

i would say that outpost two is the safer option because at outpost 1 you are very likely to get sniped as it is quite open.

Went in to Outpost 1 the other day on foot just for a challenge. There was a sniper, however he missed me on around 20 occasions. I think planning the route in and being on foot caught them by suprise!

Managed to get in, walk around the outpost and bug back out of the redzone with no issues.

Maybe I'm doing it wrong!

Many old folk' down at the Winchester say there be a large sea monster swimming deep between the land of clams by there
