I got my suggestion turned down and got sent here. Must’ve just turned into a debate about car skins ect haha 

 
Would like some clarification on something specific.

I pull over a lot of people who are wanted; far too often I am hit with ‘this isn’t my car’ 

However, 9/10 of these people will own a drivers licence. My question is simple; am I allowed to use this licence to assume identification or is that power gaming? 

 
yes you are allowed to use a driving license as identification except for a provisional, and as for power gaming using your power as a cop if im correct then no i would not

@YoCo Correct me if I am wrong but powergaming is not actually a rule...there is failrp which covers certain things which could come under powergaming but powergaming in itself is not a rule

Not necessarily. For example if 3 armed rebels are in the back of a car with a cop driving, they can state "Do xyz...we have gun to your head". There isn't any metagaming and you can see the weapons in the footwell of the vehicle. That would be an example of powergaming (Doing something you cannot actually do in game to give yourself an advantage - the generally gone by definition). It doesn't break Fail RP, nor is it metagaming. In the same way that reading someones license to check to see if car is rented etc. isn't powergaming because it is something which can be done in game. Yes if this becomes something the police regularly do then the way Rebels respond to a traffic stop may change but afak there isn't anything wrong with checking the license(And lets be real if you are pulled over and they want to restrain and search you for your license this is normally the que to flee)

I guess that technically true, but i would more classify those examples as roleplay instead of powergaming, considering this is a rp server, just like when the police roleplays that you have a pencil in your mouth when giving a ticket

It is still powergaming. Things can be classified into both, just like the drivers license, scummy but no fowl play. 

 
@Simon Ross Is it just me, but i am actually pretty sure that powergaming used to be mentioned in the rules alongside metagaming, but maybe i'm just remembering wrong.

Idk if it was w metagaming but I too feel like powergaming once was there, along with some of my mates when this discussion was bought up. I also vividly remember being in a liaison regarding powergaming but either it was never a rule or changed recently?
