I myself have tried reaching out IG through tweedle post interactions to place another mass order with you guys for my business but never got a response. I know that Cordella has come in and placed a huge order for us for omelets, croissants, and teas and we really enjoyed having them! But getting hold of anyone since has been quite hard. We love to have a variety of different foods in our staff fridge to try instead of just sticking to soups, but the reality is lately, Pops is the only restaurant we deal with now because we can get hold of someone easily and RP with them.

I completely get your point of it being soul crushing but I've had it on 3 separate occasions now where I've replied to a tweedle post within 10/15 mins of it being posted and never got a response back. I mean, sure we could swing by the shop and buy out your stock, but it would be so much better to RP these mass orders and get some regular business flowing.

Tbf I have not seen those responses to the tweedle I won't lie, so likely I missed them or have been in duty as G6 the last time I posted and thing there was a situation, tho there is a messaging system on all shop phones

I´ll be honest here...

While I don´t particularly disagree with everything said here, this is once again a premature complaint. As was said somewhere in here before, this all was phase 1 of the food update. God knows what´s in the backburner...

The fact that people have an issue with "other people" buying soups more than anything else, doesn´t make sense to me. You go out and roleplay, you go and buy other foods then! I´m pretty sure there is a few people in here complaining but still buying soups in bulk So for those, what is actually the issue? That *you* can´t make soups?

From the perspective of a restaurant making and selling soup in bulk, as I said before, we also sell plenty of other food. Not everyone buys soups, not by a long shot.

The fact that some restaurants are still limited on what they can make is hopefully gonna be fixed in the future, but in the meantime - come roleplay with Pop´s and other places - make deals! Sign up for events and get your food out there, like we do.

Now, I am open to changes on the soups.

Putting prices up - can do, but that´s an rp thing between everyone that can make soups.
Making them less filling - sure, but we gotta look at how long it takes to make them as well then. It takes me roughly 2.4 minutes to make 1 single bowl of soup, it´s a graft compared to any other food. The filling effect from 5 ingredient soups is great but it also takes a lot of time to make compared to other food.

What needs looking at is eggs for example. It is long and involves no rp. You just sit in a corner near a bush and wait for the chicken man to poop them out, but buying them from the warehouses makes no sense because it´s so expensive that anything with eggs is almost not worth making.

I do think it makes sense that soups fill up food and water, but how about being able to create a menu? Like add a coke to the steak and have a meal deal kinda thing? I think that would solve a lot of issues because the popularity on soups in mainly because of pocket space, and I do get it. A lot of people don´t have time to swing by a restaurant every hour so they buy what is convenient. Omelettes should be more filling too, cob salads are a little out of balance as well. And don´t get me started on dishes with fish - Sardines can´t really be fished or bought anymore afaik and cod is so expensive, it makes no sense to make fish and chips because barely anyone buys it for the price you need to sell it for to make profit.


There is some things that could definitely be improved but genuinely, the main issue is the missing roleplay, getting out there and selling your foods - not just over tweedle or standing idle in your shop. We have a restaurant owner GC, a direct line to all the other places - rp and get deals done, you´ll be surprised how much some places will be willing to help out I think....

I think it should be possible, with some kind of diminishing return. Soup is OP because it does food and water in nice values, and that makes sense because a soup is mostly water. It does have one of the lowest costs to make, because bottles are reusable but like all food it takes a long time and I do not envy them having to fill water bottles for the quantity they require. In some ways making food is a lot more complex than any other crafting in the server, because it has a skill based failure rate, multiple stages of crafting and huge time investment.

Penne Dish for example has 4 cooking steps before you get to a final meal, excluding the gathering of the base materials/ingredients to make the dish

If soup had a diminishing return, more solid ingredients means it quenches less thirst but more hunger it would make more "sense" or if other complex dishes also quench water better, I understand certain filled croissants do, but steak, pasta dishes, pizza, burgers etc... do not (as far as I am aware) then the soup meta would probably be less so

Eggs are one of the longer more painful processes, I honestly feel genuinely sorry for Legion Bean Machine who I see getting eggs regularly because their complex dish requires eggs, I dread to think how many they must go through but it must cost a lot of man hours per week in just material gathering, let alone the amount of hours actually making the dish

they are for sure i can understand why legion used to clean me out when i was selling omelette for like 400 (i had thousands of eggs from before the change)

croissant i think do as they use milk also to make them and honey seems to also fill some thirst

I get where you´re coming from to a degree, I just disagree that it´s soups that are the problem. For the time it takes to make them and the prices they are sold at, they are pretty balanced - it´s other foods and prices for ingredients that are the issue. And the roleplay a lot of restaurants are willing to put in, which in a lot of cases is not a lot unfortunately.

I genuinely think a meal deal sorta thing can solve a lot of issues, because one of the problems is really the pocket space. And while it makes sense that soup gives food and drink, it doesn´t for a steak for example, so being able to add a drink to a meal into one item would solve the issue mostly already.

I would also like to add that I am currently refusing to bring soups to an event, pushing my other dishes instead - that´s roleplay and will bring my other food out there^^ One of the reasons we don´t have issues selling other things

i did suggest it before as a item kinda like a evidence bag in a way so you can fill it and close it then open it after

meal deals can work sure but what im aiming at is sure people like you and me and others who want to RP and go ill go get a nice variety ot i prefer to eat this and that it works, but lets be honest alot out there are just going for the easy i cba to do that and just want the quick and easy which at the moment is soup

the fact that you have to refuse to sell soups and push other dishes tells me that all people want are soups because they are just so in demand. plus places that do have the ability to create speciality soups have the luxury to do this as they have already made millions from bulk soup sales whereas shops who are trying to actively rp and sell other foods are met with ' nah i dont want your tacos ive got a box of soups in my car'. ngl this is just reskinned smoothies.

I can tell you now, being the owner of Bean Machine, it’s brutal. If I’d known what the food update would’ve done to Bean I doubt we would’ve moved forward with the purchase. To gather the eggs we need for a month it’s well over 12 hours solo. That’s just to get the eggs, not the corn, not the extra ingredients, not the milk. Then, because it’s so time consuming I have to charge a fair whack for omelettes and croissants which are pretty whack for food and drink anyway. I personally haven’t made a profit from Bean in two/three months which is fine, but for around 20 hours worth of work a week it’s just not worth it. Trying to hire people willing to put in that work for a mediocre wage is extremely hard. I can’t pay more as we don’t have the sales to support it. Every attempt to get more orders it’s just ‘nah we want soups’, or it’s extremely last minute which we can’t do as it takes so long to get everything together. Even our S18 fridge has soups, why would I pay more for omelettes which are worse?? Because soups are just the food to have, I don’t supply the group I run with the restaurant I own as it doesn’t make sense in both funds and nourishment. I don’t think soups should be nerfed, maybe just if you’re eating them one after another they affect you less. Eat something else, the next soup will be better if you get me. Or at the very least, changes to other restaurant signature dishes in either cost to make or nourishment so that they can compete with soups. Make it so there’s a choice on preference, brand loyalty, what’s closest, who you know who works there etc, rather than ‘soup best I only eat soup’

Haha soon as you’d stocked up we’d turn up with a van and boxes It genuinely worked out cheaper to buy them from you at £400 and sell them on rather than mess around and spend a few evenings cooking and gathering. If you could start doing that again plz that’d be very appreciated

Well refuse was the wrong word really. They asked for some soups because people like them so we roleplayed and within 3 minutes they bought 250k worth of other things. I just made 500k on non-soup dishes within half an hour by catering for events, when I could have made more from soups. It´s all about the roleplay and if you don´t do that, people will obviously go for the "easiest option".

Again, I am not saying soup is not the current meta overall, but it´s not to blame on the soups as an item. It´s balance issues with other foods/ingredients and people not putting their back into rp as much as they should - that´s on both sides.

If Pop´s wouldn´t have shown as open, the second event just now wouldn´t have called us to have us cater for them. So that says a lot...

I’ve had Bean open for hours while cooking and just being in there, as well numerous of my staff. I can tell you now, 90% of people that come in for food ask for soup, we offer them something else which they often refuse and they leave. Think my record was nearly 2 hours of being open with no customers, only a phone call that asked if I wanted to buy stuff. And that’s us being in Legion Square, very busy area. Being open and providing the RP unfortunately doesn’t solve anything really. And when the RP is non-existent, I’m not going to stand there by myself for hours staring at progress bars.
