I thought they weren't implemented yet? Since there are no rules regarding them? I mean we don't know how to react to them. Do we have to initiate on them seperate etc. We don't know.

They are implemented...was on a patrol as a medic when I saw a guy with a big gun restraining people...went up to him and tried to convince him to release the hostages...then he told me that he was a cop

I've seen them in ghillie suits and stuff.. personally I think it's an awful idea and is completely unnecessary and unfair. Bounty hunters are there for this sort of stuff

@Enzrah I think it's okay to have them. But there should be at least one way to recognize them. I've never seen real life cops walking around in ghillie suits. I think they should have only acces to normal civilian clothing like hobo clothing. So we can think like "this might be an undercover cop"

@Enzrah They're meant to be unfair.... Rebels walk over cops like shit, hence we get this. Now people will be careful before engaging in illegal activities. Also to balance it a bit only a very SELECT few will have the whitelisting. It's gonna be handpicked by police command so not that many people will be undercover.

Never knew there was white-listing and now that I know this, it doesn't sound like the worst thing ever to be honest.

@VRambo I think it will decrease roleplay so much. Since every person at the weed processing is now automatically a treat. So when I arrive there with my convoy I would make sure that everyone who is there would kindly "fuck off". I think I would just get them all restrained and let them waiting for us to leave.

Is it because you can't do anything any more or is because you have to be smarter these days? Your point makes no sense and has no decent arguments. We are looking for decent feedback on the undercover police - but posts like this does not really help to improve it.

Xsum.

EDIT: If you have suggestions or complaints feel free to either contact a SI+ or in worse case scenario's use the police complaint commission.

I have a question. @CSI Xsum How about gunfights? Can undercover cops just join the gunfight? Or do they need to initiate seperally. Because I can see a lot of confusion coming from this. I mean it has happened that random hobos walk in the HM but since they are not police you cannot shoot them. How is this going to work with unmarked cops? Can they just join the HM with nobody knowing it?

@KingGodDiabloZ Good question. The undercover police are in it's starting phase, full rules on this will be released as soon as possible by @SI Joseph Tadworth. For now - undercover police has to be recognizable as a police officer to join in police fights. ell. Either showing their badge to the criminals or wearing a police vest to join in the fight. It is not required for spotting enemy's as rebels do this procedure and tactic as well.

Undercover police will only effect the lazy ones!

And another little question: @CSI Xsum Do they have backpacks or do they always have visible guns? Or do they have invisible backpacks.

Xsum
Xsum
@KingGodDiabloZ They can choose to wear backpacks or not to wear a backpack depending on the requirements of their missions.

'But there should be at least one way to recognise them' completely defeats the purpose of them. If they had a hint about the way they look then they would be targeted/avoided fully. We all know how the server works; someone gets a hint you're from a particular group that guy might as well either shoot himself in the head or drive away as fast as he can.

'I've never seen real life cops walking around in ghillie suits' ever seen an undercover cop? Ever seen a criminal walking around a shopping mall calling cops pigs, spitting on them and brandishing a 7.62mm rifle with 3 friends on nearby office buildings? Ever seen a cop taze someone for calling them a pig IRL? No. Therefore, there are so many unrealistic aspects of the game mode we all play and love that are far from realistic which everyone accepts, however a little detail like that and suddenly that's completely unrealistic... This island calls for different circumstances and tactics in comparison to real life.. I mean, i've never seen a member of the NHS in an ambulance smother marmite on a guy suffering from falling over, but it's a daily occurrence on Altis!

As for the post itself, it's slightly OP but it allows police to combat rebels in a DIFFERENT way in comparison to the way they've been doing it for years.. If it becomes game breaking it will probably get removed. If it becomes too unbalanced then either the board or management will change aspects of it to make it fairer! For now, let it spread its wings and have a fair trial run

EDIT: @KingGodDiabloZ wouldn't let me tag you originally. NOT EVERYTHIGN IN MY RESPONSE IS DIRECTED AT YOU.

I've been on an undercover patrol and its not that overpowered. There's many things we can't do that'll break our cover such as impounding or restraining.

Also undercover can't commit crimes so you simply ask them to commit a crime to see if they are undercover or not.
