It doesn't just everyone thinks with their 7.62

what other faction can you have apart from police or medic? Firemen?

@Jay313 loads. People just needs to expand their mind, not just think "we need a whitelist for 7.62 rifles so that I can rp myself to a gunfight". If OPFOR is to be replaced, it does not need to be a faction with firearms..

@KingGodDiabloZ @Sonder well i havent played the server in a while but last time i played there was UNMC but seems like they got disbanded but its not very easy for alot of different factions to be made into a non-modded server like this. e.g fire department would be hard as it is very difficult to script something that could work for a fire department.

@Jay313 Yes, UNMC got disbanded. It was voted for in a UNMC meeting and they agreed to disband. Even though this server is non-modded there is still lots that can be done, however do we really need to replace the OPFOR slot? Just because the UNMC has been disbanded and there is an empty hole there, would it not be better to just leave it as it is and use developer time on improving, fixing and adding content to our 3 main factions, Police, Rebel and NHS? These factions is the 3 core ones that has stood by the longest and these will likely stay here as long as the community lives. UNMC on the other hand has come and gone two or three times.

And UNMC has also made countless development suggestions/requests, and yet nothing was ever implemented on the scale we wanted. Our skins had to be done by one of our own, and as did the map we desired. Before DJ came along, UNMC had been almost forgotten about.

What we proposed wasn't good enough, and that's fair enough - but when nothing major gets added for months on end, it gets stale and pointless. Cant blame the faction for coming and going if they're getting nothing worth staying for.

@Tuna Absolutely not blaming factions for coming and going, think you misunderstood me. I loved the UNMC, loved every encounter I had with them and I defenetly missed their presence when they left. If OPFOR is ever to return as any faction, it should be UNMC unless some better idea comes. My point is; yes UNMC is gone now, that does not mean we should immediatly replace it with some half-planned simple rebel faction. If one person wrote a proper suggestion for a new faction that is not 90% the same as UNMC, that would possibly be a good read, but after seing ~20 suggestions that basically is UNMC, I personally dont think this community is ready to replace OPFOR. Give it some time, lets see what this next big update next week is, and then the community can take it from there.
