I have one effective, but easy card trick I know. Note: You need cards with backsides that long different when turned. You shuffle a handful of cards as good as you can. You then fan out the cards on your hand and have the audience pick a card. You take that card without looking at it and tell them to remember the card. You take the card they picked and turn it 180 degrees and put it back into your deck. You then shuffle once more and fan the cards out on your hand with the back side facing you as before. You then pick out the card that is turned 180 degrees and ask them if that is their card. It's very subtle and almost unnoticeable as the audience can't see the back of the cards.
