First I'd like to make it clear that there is not a hard ban on going zones, but the conditions have been made clearer and, indeed, more restrictive. There are a couple of reasons for this.
First of all it is the stance of Gold Command that police should be here to do policing, whilst the zones are fun they are not exactly a hot spot for that. As such we'd like to have our officers out of the zones and instead responding to various crimes and things happening across the island, after all it is quite frustrating if you're being robbed and there is no police to help because they're all busy in the zones.
We have also implemented a new holiday system which is way more generous when it comes to how and when officers may play rebel. With this new system officers earn holiday hours for hours played as police, they can then use these hours to book time to play rebel in any capacity they'd like and whenever they'd like. As such an officer may book an evening of holiday and play zone as much as they'd like.
Lastly we've heard numerous complaints about the fact that officers with their infinite free gear are an unbalanced contribution to the zones, as such this is also a way to make that less of an occurrence. But alas we can never please everyone.
