The ALUK launcher, along with the ALUK modpack is no longer supported. The easiest way to connect is to launch the game, select "Direct Connect" and enter "s1.roleplay.co.uk" into the IP box.
I couldn't agree more about sennheiser headsets. Had the PC 350se for 2 years now, I ended up replacing the earpads because they were getting worn out, but apart from that it's still good as new. Personally I prefer 3.5mm jacks over USB just for more flexibility.
I think that would make it better is move the location up north into the hills a bit more. Personally I loved where the old weed field was, because there were so many hills. It just generally made it a lot more interesting. Lots of the current drug areas have no real interesting features.
Personally, I'd recommend spending an extra few bucks on a case that's actually good. It's one of the few things that can last you a very long time (assuming you build your own PCs)
The launcher is (currently) useless, as the server ip's haven't been updated. However here is a download for the actual modpack. Extract it into your game directory so the folder is called "@ALUK" and inside is "addons, mod.cpp, mod.paa, version.txt". And here is how to add it to arma.
Pretty sure the assets aren't "there". The guns/vehicles came as part of the APEX update (so you don't need the DLC), but the terrain, models, etc. come as part of the actual DLC.
Do you have any previous programming experience? If not I wouldn't recommend SQF as a starting language.
Here is a great place to start, but the MOST important thing is just jump into the edit and type anything that comes into your mind into the debug console. SQF is a very... weird language...
This is what happens when you want to compileFinal a string that has quotation marks in it. (P.S KRON_Replace is terrible) [_this, """", """"""] call replaceInString;
