I get this all the time when I use Arma3Sync to connect to the server. If I do it the normal way and go through the all the menus to connect, it doesn't show up.

Shooting them while your friend was restained is RP enough to shoot them. Killing with RP doesn't mean you have to tell them you're going to open fire, some situations don't require communication. Although; I would still advise doing so as sometimes you get some butthurt people that will claim...

You can keep weapon attachments by having the gun still equipped but removing the attachments - put them in your vest or bag.
