AR seems to receive a lot of complaints for just going in guns blazing, honestly i don't know. Ive never had a engagement with them. So i assume its just based on the officer. (not starting a argument just saying)

Sounds like there utter shite. But Razor Kraken Pro god no, no surround sound unless you buy a separate program, worst mic i have ever had. 

Go with what you feel comfortable with,  just whatever you do NEVER, NEVER get a razor headset. Worst choice of my life.

Someone had this issue before and they found a solution, il try and find the topic again. Download AutoHotKey and in the script simply add "[NewKey]::NUMPADdiv" i.e "g::NUMPADdiv"  < Try that  Link to other forum 

Never really used a standalone mic and headset so that part wont be useful for you! But i have never had any problems with my Corsair headsets that ive had. So from my bias view would be stay with Corsair! Might just be a random fault.
