Custom masks issue

If i wear a mask and use one of the customisation options to change the colour/style from the default stock style I dont seem to be able to use the "remove mask" emote successfully. I tried it yesterday and repeated it again today and had a friend do the same thing and we think we have tracked it down to this particular issue. It seems that with the default dozen masks it works fine but the colour change is an issue.
