Currently custom numberplates are a bit underwhelming imo, the format is quite strict and the need to have a number in each half doesn't make any sense to me.
My suggestion has two parts:
1) Allow more options when choosing a custom plate.
Either have different tiers with different rules or charge people depending on how unique the plate is. If people could have 1 word plates or unique formats they would be willing to drop a lot of money for one. I don't know if there would be issues caused by non-conforming plates but if they are technically possible it would be a cool thing to have to throw money at.
Example:
Tier 1 500k-1m: current rules
Tier 2 1-2m: one extra change, maybe move or replace the space
Tier 3 2-5m: rare plates, short words, names etc.
TIer 4 5m+: ultra rare, small numbers etc.
2) Let people have plates without a number in the second half.
Even though the normal format is AA00 AAA for plates, custom plates must have a number in their second half such as AA0A A0A, maybe instead just have the rule be 1 or 2 numbers minimum overall while keeping the XXXX XXX spacing, at least let people match stock format?
That's about it, thanks.
