Dayz Standalone Server - Restarts every 2 hours

As a trial we have today amended the restart times on our DayZ standalone server to every 2 hours rather than 4.

The move behind this is so there are more looting opportunity's as after 2 hours usually the only thing your going to find left is a sporter 22 and a mouldy potato!

We will see how it goes but hopefully this is a good move as suggested by General Cardoso.

I actually registered to write this :)

There are hundreds of servers with 2 or 1 hour restarts for looting. Where you can loot as much as not  necessary.

There are sooo few on which you can actually PLAY. Without being kicked out all the time.  I would really regret, if it stays that way..

I actually found your server bei searching for "4 hours" in the first place.

It's already emptier now and i think  you gave up the one special (rare) thing about your server.

He has a point. It can take an hour or more to fully gear up and that's if you live to do so or live after you have already done so.

 
Thanks Andy & Sovereign for your input... with that and how the server wasnt so filled today, i decided to revert back to the 4 hours.

If it is not broke do not fix it i guess!

Even on a 4h server it isn't. You may have to leave the big cities however. 

But my real point is: 1 or 2hrs is now standard. You get it everywhere. You can loot there but PLAY here.

That's server hopping and i don't like it too much,  But having interesting situations interrupted by server restarts is even more annoying. And it happened far too often to me. 

Since you state "real roleplay community" on top, your target shouldn't be "perfect looting" anyway : )  

Also i think players spread a bit more over the map on a 4hr server, because not everything is happening around the looting spots.

Your Server was (and is again, right now :) ) full because it offers the (rare) alternative.

And because  it's clearly announced in the name!

It's no accident for example that the probably 2 most populated german servers, both regular and hardcore, are 4hr servers.
