Error upon signing in onto the forums

Whenever I start Crome>google altislife.co.uk>come to the 1st main page>press sign in>type my account name & password>press enter or sign in = I get this:

Server error

500

The website encountered an error while retrieving http://www.altislife.co.uk/login/. It may be down for maintenance or configured incorrectly.
Then I need to go onto the home page(browser icon, start up page) which is Google(or close & open up again the browser Chrome). I type in altislife.co.uk in google once again, I click on altislife.co.uk & there I am, already signed in. Or I reload the page, I get onto the 1st page of altislife.co.uk, as a guest with the option to sign in(after you press sign in, that page, where you type in account name & password) & press on the logo of altislife.co.uk(up there on the page

) & I'm in, as a signed member on the main page. I got no problems with signing out. I used CCleaner program to delete cookies etc., but no effect. That started to occur after I changed my account name, profile picture & background profile picture at the same time - yesterday.

Also yesterday I received an award, 1 year award, but It's symbol picture didn't loaded up so far, so I could see it, I see just a square with the sign of a picture. I don't know, If It's got something to do with that also.

Question: Are you accessing the site using a bookmark? or just typing the URL into the address bar?

Server Error 500 is a kinda generic error, but I'm just wondering if you have a URL relating to your old account name bookmarked and its buggering up the requests to the web server somehow.

Rather than just cookies, you might also want to try clearing your entire chrome cache / cookies.
Chrome > Settings > Advanced Settings > Clear Browsing Data > Clear Cookies & Cache.
The other browsing data options aren't really too essential, just cookies and the cached files / images. See if that helps

I too am having a similar error.

I signed out in an attempt to get the 1 year member achievement, but when I log in through steam, I get a 500 server error, and don't get sign in. However, when I navigate to the website in a new tab, I seem to be signed in again...

I'm entering the site via my usual procedure, by just typing "altislife" into google (the square for searching, not URL address bar), then I click on the 1st hit or option, which is the link to the forums/ALUK. I am not using bookmarks at all, my habit. CCleaner does it all, It cleans the history, cache, cookies,...of Chrome & I've also done it manually in Chrome advanced settings as you said Mycaelis. I don't use steam at all just to log onto this forums(ALUK site*).

Since It all started when I made some changes to my profile page(I think the profile picture isn't it, which causes this error), It might got something to do with the uploaded GIF for my profile background picture. But I already used to have it before, also along with the same profile picture as I got now & everything was fine.

My best guess would be, It has something to do with the 1 year award(probably, but not sure)& with It's symbol picture, which is shown left & bellow my profile picture & info, in every single post of mine. It's not shown as loaded already, I can see a hollow square with a white frame around it, inside a symbol of a torn apart picture, like you can see the old emoticons, same symbol. Btw, so far I haven't seen it, the real(just the not uploaded/old) symbol of that award, by anyone at all, from my perspective.

Yes, Daanish, you do get logged in/signed in after you write down account name+password & press sign in or enter, but then a blank white screen appears with the error notification. Well, then I just reload the site, I get to the site again where I need to write down my account name+ password, but I don't do it again, because I know I'm already signed in, I just click on this logo on the top of the screen.

Then I get into the main page of the forums & in fact see that I was right, I am already signed in, like I told/knew before.

I don't experience this problem anymore, seemed fix now, but I didn't do anything. Guess It wasn't after all the 1 year award thing, which symbol I still can't see. Hopefully, this problem won't occur again, because then I need to post again.
