Made a new character the other week, so of course had to hit the gym and shape up - while in the gym I thought it was disappointing to see that they don't really get utilised that much and could be a great setting for RP.
Gym's tend to only get used for 20 minutes when creating a new character, until the stats are maxed - then they don't really serve a purpose apart from the odd boxing match, of which I'm sure only one of the 2 gyms has a boxing ring.
What are peoples thoughts on muscle mass and cardio level decreasing over time if you don't maintain them?
Maybe 1-2% per day nothing mad - just to ensure you have to go gym once a week or something to stay in top shape.
I think in longer hospital stints, this could also have some give to reduce muscle mass and fitness by a larger percentage,. pulling a figure our of my arse, 10%-20% - promoting reconditioning and possible RP for NHS in the form of physiotherapy - this could also help promote better value for life.
Possible injuries stem from using the gym just based on RNG and different effects which can be treated similar to existing injuries, these could be anything from 'aching muscles' to full on fractures or something along those lines.
I think it would be pretty decent to have the gyms then player owned, charging a small admission fee or possible memberships etc - they could also then stock some of the healthier optioned food from the update - salads, smoothies etc - giving more opportunities for RP across all playstyles.
It would also be pretty cool to see the strength and cardio perhaps have more influence on game mechanics than combat/flipping cars - maybe you can hit harder in the mines? can carry more/less depending on your level - both in terms of inventory and perhaps storage boxes - it doesn't make sense to be able to carry say 250KG on your back if you haven't been to the gym?
