In your own words, please type why you think you were banned.
I was autobanned last night whilst processing iron. In direct chat whilst removing impurities from iron in order to make steel i said in direct text chat "this n*gga dropped his beans". This was in direct reference to the meme where the man spills his beans in the cinema. I was instantly removed due to saying this phrase due to its possible racist connotations.

Why should we unban you ?
I feel that my actions were not racist or discriminatory in away as they were simply in reference to a meme. My words were not aimed at any person and were simply said to make reference to the joke me and friends were currently talking about at the time. At the time of my ban i had previously read the rules espically rule 1.2 and i knew that racism or discrimination would not be tolerated however i was unaware i could be banned permanetly and automatically by a system which did not understand the context of my words. I am fairly new to this server and was hoping to play quite substantially throughout the summer with my friends so it would be very appriecated if this ban could be removed so i could continue to enjoy my time on this server.

This sentence comes across as if you're blaming us for having a system in place to automatically remove racial phrases as soon as they are detected.  Regardless of context, we don't accept these terms being used as I'm sure you're now aware.

I'm not interested in if you think that your actions weren't being racist or discriminatory.  They are just simply not tolerated.

I'm also fully aware of the origins of your "Pools Closed" avatar which now brings me to my 2 main questions:

How can we be sure that you aren't going to repeat this be in vocally or written?
How can we be sure that you aren't here to just mess about and troll?

Im not blaming this server for having a automatic ban system for racial abuse, it has postive intentions, my point was that I was unaware of its existence and therefore I thought my ban was unjustified due to it banning me without warning or without knowledge of any context.

To answer your questions, firstly I am not a racist person, nor do I wish to abuse any person for any reason. Also, now that I am aware of this auto ban system i will not repeat anything which can be seen as racially insensitive in text chat. Also i will make sure to not say anything which could be seen as insensitive in voice chat.

Secondly, I am not here to troll people or simply just get 'frags', i want to play with my friends and have a good time earning money and talking with other players.

My 'Pools closed' avatar is simply in reference to a internet meme much like your 'Ugandan Knuckles' avatar and although some may find both these memes offensive, i simply find them humorous.

I'm concerned that you thought it was ok to say in the first place, and aren't showing any remorse for your actions; instead, you still appear to be blaming everyone except yourself. It seems to me that you are saying "Well I thought it was ok to say, so it's not my fault", and that the context made everything ok, which would be erroneous assumptions on your part.

We have a zero tolerance towards racism and discrimination here, which is one of the reasons we have the auto-ban feature enabled. What you said was not acceptable, and never will be acceptable, which is something I'm not sure you are understanding.

Your answers to Mattch's questions do not fill me with confidence that there would not be a repeat incident. I will give you one more chance to convince us otherwise.

Although I formally disagree with your belief that “ignorance is no excuse” I do understand your intention to remove any trace of racism or hate as it is known to plague many online communities.

I share the same beliefs of this server, racism, which is defined as being “ prejudice, discrimination or antagonism directed against someone of a different race based on the belief that one’s own race is superior” should not be tolerated by anyone. However as you can see from what I said, my words were not directed at any person. Therefore i truly believe I was not in violation of rule 1.2 although you may disagree.

Also I would like to ask you why you believe that me simpy making reference to an internet meme is

At the end of the day a word is simply just a word if it is without context.

This being said however, I understand that this is your server with your rules, and if In this environment  you wish that’s no words with any racist connotations should be spoken then I will comply with rules even if I believe that the context of which these words are spoken is more important. The rules state that  “If there is a disagreement then disagree in a noble and adult manner.”. I believe that we have done just that, disagreed in a adult manner and in the process I have shown my respect for your server and remorse for my act. I do not wish to put any blame on your server and it’s features for my ban as it was my fault. My questioning of this server’s autoban system in previous posts was simply to more accurately display my side of the story so you could see this situation from my point of view, which is important in this appeal process.

Hopefully the way I have wrote in this thread has shown that I do not wish to troll and instead wish to come across as honest, adult and respectful. I do strongly believe that what I have said was wrong and I will now adapt stay away from any behaviour which would conflict with rule 1.2 whilst playing in this server. My true intentions were never to be offensive or immature,I hope that you can see this reflected in my replies which I believe to be respectful.

Again you are trying to portray yourself as the victim in all of this, with a lot of "I believe this" and "I truly believe that", and reasoning that you were banned because you didn't know that we had an auto-ban system in place. It simply doesn't fly here. I believe that you are simply trying to give me what you think I want to see, whilst still trying to justify that your actions were fine.

You were banned because you used a racist term. End of.

You are not being unbanned because you're failing to see that there is an issue with what you said, and are instead trying to blame us for our rules.
