In your own words, please type why you think you were banned.
The reason for my ban was for being in or joining a particular steam group which from what I believe was being offensive or mocking a member(s) of this community. Initially I did not participate within this group of people nor communicate with them directly via steam and within the group itself. As soon as I received my punishment I was confused for why and immediately left the group.
Why should we unban you ?
Recently I have been doing some very important exams and still am, during my exam period and just before the exam weeks begun, I was not very active on my computer and in this community due to my exam time table. I remember a few weeks before they initially started I was just playing on the server with two friends of mine and we were just chilling out playing as usual until I was surprised with a community ban. At first this shocked me and my friends as I initially did not know the reason behind it, after reading the ban message I had passively realised what I had done and the silly mistake I had made. I have a lingering steam friends of over 100+ people. There is still and was some people on there that I was unaware of and I frequently get asked to join particular steam groups with no added context and I usually accept without questioning myself. I found that this was the case with this particular steam group. I just want to add, the person who invited me to this group was a friend that I knew and I thought that it was an innocent group at the time, I am not saying that I did not know this person…
As soon as I was banned I decided to look at the steam group and just seeing the picture and description of the group which I can remember to a certain extent immediately gave away why I was banned and I fully understand the reason for my punishment. I removed myself from the steam group immediately as I subconsciously joined without any context or knowing what type of content would be within the group. I do take partial blame for this as it is a silly mistake on my behalf for not checking what this group was about and who was in it. I made sure to not associate myself with these people anymore and this is when my break in general begun for my exams.
I believe that I should be unbanned not because it was a senseless mistake on my behalf but because I did not mean to anger/bully any member of this community and would never do so in the future. I have played with this community for a long time (a few years now) and know the player base and foundation well. Not only has this server taught me things that I would have never known before but has also let me talk with people and meet some real characters which my friends are now. This has been a learning curve for me and I understand how severe something like this can be and how it can affect someone and I have intentionally taken a month to reflect on my silly action and it will not happen again. I did not want to appeal straight away like some people do without reflecting on the initial punishment. Also, during my break, I have been very busy and this problem has been on my mind and I want to clear it up whilst I have the spare time to.
Lastly, I want to make a formal apology to anybody that was offended or tormented by the behaviour of the steam group I was in and I never realised what type of content was within the group, I don’t want to be associated with negativity and people that portray that type of attitude towards positive people within this community or anyone in general.
