In your own words, please type why you think you were banned.: There was a number of reasons as to why I was banned. The main being attempting to mass RDM people in Legion. Me and a few of the gang I rolled with decided to take it upon ourselves to break multiple rules and RP in general. The reasons as to why we done what we done are now a little blur, but ill try my best to remember the important details. So the scenarios that lead to the ban were....
Me and the gang I was apart of (Crips) were one of the biggest thriving gangs in the server. Recruiting a whole lot of new people and showing them the roots of RP and the enjoyment that can come of it. We for the most part, Well I speak for myself, stayed in character most of the time. I didn't show up on the "Admin radar" like a lot of my gang probably did. Especially one in particular - Jay Bishop. Jay was the leader of the Crips when I joined and he gave me a lot of insight on how to enjoy the whole RP experience. If you're wondering how this involves me I'm getting to it!
Lets not kid ourselves, but Jay did acquire a lot of enemies from the way in which he roleplayed. Personally I didn't see a problem, but he did handle some situations the wrong way. Him gaining these enemies made them our enemies from a RP standpoint considering we were RP'ing a gang. I wasn't on as much as the rest of the gang due to work but while i wasn't on they would all do things and not actually inform us. Leading to members of the gang including myself being shot on sight. This made the whole RP for me and a lot of others very tense and stale. Getting on everyday to mass shootouts without warning or even random police interactions asking to give up members of my gang. This happened nearly everyday. Get on, get shot. Get on Get arrested. Now I'm not going to say that none of it is my fault because I would be lying, but a handful of the situations I wound up in came from the involvement of the gang while I wasn't on.
So imagine this, you get home from work and decided to play something you love. RPUK. To load in, and get taken hostage instantly. To be ordered around, to be arrested for the gangs involvement in an active shoot out 10 minutes before. Now you're probably going to reply with "why didn't you just leave if it wasn't working out for you" now let me explain that. Some of my mates IRL were the ones that got me hooked onto RP and they were the ones apart of the gang to. I came on because they were on. It would never have been as simple as "leaving.
" I could have made a massive RP situation and played it out but my gang had already pissed off everyone that there wasn't anything I could have done. Either create a new character which is what I did contemplate, but to graft for all that I earned and the relationships I gained just didn't seem worth it.
Me and a few others decided to leave and create a new gang called the peaky blinders. Where a lot of other members from the Crips came over and joined, but for the most part - majority left. Now this is the main cause of my ban. After the original gang disbanded things just really wasn't going our way. We weren't respected for our efforts or our RP interactions and even looked down upon by the admins. The reputation the Crips left us wasn't good. We had no story to go a long with, and for the little amount we did have nobody was interested. I couldn't fulfil and meet the RP of a criminal because nobody wanted to associate themselves with any of us.
The shear abuse of power from some police and some admins not directly towards me but in my direction that made the server just that less enjoyable from all of us inside the peaky blinders. We wanted a whitelisted building controlled by us. We were told countless times to keep producing RP and in the near future we would be awarded a business controlled by us. Well that went down the plug real fast. Just as things were slowly but surely getting on track things just seemed to be falling apart again.
Me and other members of the gang were protesting at the police station on the last day before we got banned. We were making a statement and a lot of the server was involved. We all witnessed police brutality and I know it was just a miss click or whatever but a lot of people saw it so we all went a long with it for the sake of RP. To my knowledge nothing happened to said officer but that's not the point, the point is we tried countless times to be heard and just wanted a piece of the pie that was clearly being handed out but it wouldn't happen if the people inside the gang were there.
Everyday felt like I had everyone on my back, I was pulled out a few times for "combat logging" where I was found to have returned to the scenario after I was able to reconnect. After Jay got banned we all had had enough of the lack of respect for the effort a lot of us were putting in. We had had enough that we just decided we wouldn't be missed if we weren't in the server. So we all decided to pull out a lot of our stock from our armoury and mass RDM the people at legion. Was this the way to go about it no. But we at the time didn't care. We were so fed up of being treated like sh*t day in and day out.
So we got ourselves banned so that we could all evaluate and think about if this was really something we wanted to play. It just wasnt fun for the longest time and I think if I could go back now and have a clean slate i would do things the right way.
Why should we unban you ?: I think you should consider unbanning me because I believe that I have changed. I believe I have changed the way I RP and I can see the stupidity from my side. There was ways to overcome the scenarios that lead to my ban, and I think if I was given another shot I wouldn't make myself get to torn up in the personal attributes of the server.
When I was banned I didn't quit roleplaying. I joined other communities and I tried continuing the legacy I created for myself in RPUK. Personally I think there was way to much of personal hatreds in the server rather than hatred of the characters. I understand the issues I surrounded myself in, and I know how easily avoidable and I now know that it really is just a game. At the end of the day RP isn't about winning, it's about creating virtual situations and having fun with them. I cared way to much about losing and winning that I took the fundamental part of the word RP and turned it upside down.
RP is what you make it. The routes you chose continue to haunt you unless you do something about it. The paths you take at the beginning are the same ones you have to follow at the end. I believe that I know that now, and if I was to be unbanned I would show you all how much I have changed not only as a person, but as a RP'er.
If you have read all the way to here then I do want to thank you for even taking the time out of your day to read my appeal. I have changed, and I really want to come back to your server and just prove to you how much I have.
I have read over the server rules several times to lock them into my head so there is no excuse to break any. I have had 7 months of thinking and changing and using other servers to see exactly what I need to do in order to RP.
You are going to ask a question a long the lines of "how do we know that when we unban you that will prove to have changed and not do the same things again?" By accepting my apology and reviewing what I have said. You can't know. But I promise to never do something like what got me banned.
Whatever the outcome of this, just know I appreciate what you are all doing and like I said, for even considering my appeal does mean a lot.
