Server: GTA RP
Character Name: Josh Cooper
Steam ID: 76561199843269107
Ban ID (just the numbers): 212429
Ban Reason: Discrimination, Common sense, Idling, Breaking RP in voice, Roleplay everything, Poor quality roleplay.
Why do you think you were banned: I was banned for breaking several rules in a kidnapping scene with a gang. I had poor quality roleplay and ruined the scene by going AFK without any warning or reason, which disrupted everything for the others. I also broke RP in voice chat by talking out of character and didn't show common sense or engage properly. I was rude and disrespectful to players, including a transphobic remark where I asked a player “Do you like the movies transformers?” and after she said “Yes” I replied “Of course you do,” which was hurtful, immature, and broke the discrimination rule. I also didn't take the ticket against me seriously, which was disrespectful to staff and players.
Why should we unban you: I'm really sorry for all the mistakes that led to my ban. I know I broke a lot of rules in a short time, used offensive language, discriminated, and didn't take roleplay or the community seriously, which made it look like I was just trolling. That upset people and gave me a bad record. I understand from the staff reply that my appeal was well written and I took responsibility, but you weren't sure I'd changed in such a short time. It's now 2026 as you suggested for a new appeal, and I've had more time to think about everything. I missed some things in my last appeal, but I take full responsibility for all my rule breaks, including being disrespectful or causing problems. In my previous appeal, I worded things badly and it sounded like I only learned respect later, that wasn't what I meant. I've always believed everyone deserves respect, but my actions didn't show it at all. What I said was wrong and hurtful, with no excuse even if I thought it was a joke. I also kept messaging staff for an unban after being told not to, that was immature and ignored the process, and in the ticket, I didn't treat it seriously, which was wrong and made things worse for staff and players. I should've handled it with respect instead of brushing it off. I've learned a lot now and promise to take everything seriously going forward. This was my first roleplay server and I was new, but that's no excuse, I own what I did. Since the ban, I've spent more time improving my roleplay and behaviour on other servers. If you give me a chance now, I'll follow every rule, treat everyone with respect, and show I've actually changed. I miss the server and the friends I made, and I want to prove I can be a positive part of the community. - Josh Cooper

Hello @J6sh,

I've read into all relevant information, it would seem you've put alot more effort into the appeal than when a member of staff spoke to you in a ticket.
Going through the entire situation, I have a single burning question: Why was there any need for any of this?

“Do you like the movies transformers?” and after she said “Yes” I replied “Of course you do,”
Is type of speech something you often use towards other players and do you understand the implications of how this comes across?

Thank you for taking the time to review my appeal and for your question. There was absolutely no need for that remark or any of the disrespectful behaviour I showed that day. It was completely unnecessary, immature, and wrong. That type of speech is not something I often (or ever) use towards other players. In fact, looking back, it wasn't something I used at all before that incident. It was a one off moment of poor judgment where I thought a "joke" would be funny, but it clearly wasn't. And yes, I fully understand the implications of how that remark comes across. It was hurtful, disrespectful, transphobic, and immature. I've spent a lot of time since then reflecting on why I thought that was acceptable in the moment and educating myself on why discriminatory comments, even subtle ones, are never harmless in a community like this. I deeply regret it and am truly sorry for the hurt it caused the players involved. If given another chance, I will treat everyone with the respect they deserve and contribute positively to the server. Thank you again for considering my appeal.

As much effort as you're putting in this, you're going to need to need more to convince me on this.
What has changed in these 3 months to radically change your mindset regarding this?

To add within a few days, you racked up this many rulebreaks, some of them being quite serious ones. It will be hard to come back from this, but I am willing to entertain this idea.
Why did you act in the way you did during the roleplay scenario itself?

Thank you again for your response and for being willing to consider my appeal despite the seriousness of my rule breaks. To answer your question about what has changed in my mindset over the past months. A lot has changed through consistent reflection and time away from the server. At the time of the ban, I was treating roleplay far too casually, I saw it more as a game to mess around in when I was bored or frustrated, rather than a shared experience that requires respect and effort from everyone involved. That immature attitude led me to make poor decisions quickly, like going AFK mid scene without warning, breaking character in voice chat, and worst of all, making that discriminatory remark. In the moment, I didn't fully grasp how my actions affected others. I was selfish, thinking only about my own "fun" and not about the community or the players on the other end. Regarding why I acted that way during the roleplay scenario itself. Honestly, it boiled down to impatience, frustration, and a complete lack of maturity. The kidnapping scene wasn't going how I expected. I felt like things were dragging or not fun for me personally so instead of roleplaying through it properly or communicating in character, I disengaged by going AFK without a word, started breaking RP in voice, and let my irritation spill over into rude and offensive comments. I wasn't thinking about the group or the other players. I was just acting entitled, like my boredom justified disrupting everything. Looking back, that was incredibly selfish and showed no common sense or respect for the effort everyone else was putting in. There was no valid reason for it, it was purely poor judgment on my part. I know racking up multiple serious rule breaks in such a short time makes it hard to trust that I've changed, but I promise if given this chance, I'll prove it through my actions, following all rules strictly, prioritizing quality RP, and treating every player and staff member with the respect they deserve. I miss the server deeply and want to contribute positively this time. Since then, the extended time away has forced me to mature and revaluate. I've thought a lot about how discriminatory comments, even ones disguised as "jokes," contribute to making spaces unsafe and unwelcome, especially in a community like this one. There's no excuse for it, and I've educated myself more on why that kind of language is harmful. I've also come to better appreciate the importance of high quality roleplay, staying engaged, communicating properly, and valuing everyone's time in a scene. This wasn't a sudden switch, it's been gradual through repeated self reflection and recognizing how my behaviour ruined experiences for others. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Hello @J6sh,

That reply is very well written, though it's a little too perfect for me.

Who or what has written this appeal?

Hello @J6sh,

It's clear that you're not going to be honest here.

Your speech pattern doesn't match up with your previous appeals nor normal conversations.
This entire appeal is regurgitated from your previous appeal by either assistance from someone else or an AI.

We don't care for spelling mistakes in appeals. However the style is completely off compared to how you normally talk.
The keypoint is the genuinity here, which isn't here based on the assisted responses which shows when you're trying to bullshit us.

Feel free to appeal when you're ready to tackle this by yourself.
