Why do you think you were banned: I was community banned because I had failed to be fully upfront and honest with staff during a ticket/investigation into a person in the community that was ban evading. I had become aware of the person that had been banned using another alias/account to still continue to play for around 10 days before the ticket was made and I still did not report it to staff.
When I was later questioned within the ticket I was not truthful about what had happened and what I knew, and instead elected to try present the screenshots in a manner that made myself look better. In doing so, the trust that was there between me and the staff team had been broken and that was why I was community banned
Looking back on this, I realise what I had done was completely wrong and went against everything that not only a community member should be - but a community leader as well.
I had multiple opportunities to come forward and tell the truth, and I didn’t. I take full responsibility for that choice, and I understand that the way I handled the situation caused damage to the community’s trust in me.
Why should we unban you: I am asking for a second chance as I have spent the last couple of months reflecting on what had happened and why what i did was wrong, im accepting and not deflecting of what i had done destroyed the trust put upon me as a community leader as well as a community member.
At the time when I was questioned was at the height of my enjoyment of the server, running a whitelisted gang as well as some big storylines playing out within the Lost MC and I thought that if i "played dumb" I would be able to avoid any of the fall out from the ban evading - In reality all I had done was just make things worse and show that I was not to be trusted.
Since being banned, I’ve spent a lot of time reflecting on that mistake. I now understand that in a community like Roleplay UK, honesty is the foundation that everything else is built on. If members start hiding the truth or protecting people who are breaking rules, the integrity of the whole community falls apart. I should have recognised that and acted accordingly.
I am also under no illusion that trust isnt something that can be instantly rebuilt, I am not expecting to be unbanned and things just go back to how they were prior to my ban - I am willing to take on any restrictions that the staff think to be appropriate to show that I am learnt from my mistakes and willing to make things right.
RPUK/ALUK (for the og's) has always been a community I have loved to be apart - the people, the stories I've made has been what has kept me here for 11 years now and I genuinely regret that my actions led to losing that. I’m not writing this appeal to deflect or justify what happened, because the truth is, I made a conscious choice not to do the right thing. I just want the opportunity to make it right, rebuild the trust that I broke, and prove that I can be a positive member of the community again.
