Who are we!
The original Animal Gang were newsboys who banded together in order to conduct a feud with the IRA (in republican folklore they were often alleged to be in league with the Blue-shirts). They eventually emigrated, and supposedly came together again in the East End of London. But the name stuck, and stayed alive.
To some, they were thugs who terrorised inner-city Dublin; to others, they were Robin Hood figures who helped poor families and friends.
One thing is certain, however - The Animal Gang, who emerged from the grinding poverty of the festering, crime-ridden tenements of 1930s Dublin, constituted the violent underbelly of Ireland's capital city at the time.
The Animal Gang of Dublin's tenements who used iron hooks, knuckle dusters and baseball bats in their brawls.
The nickname reflects both the savagery of their regular clashes with other gangs, the police and the paramilitaries and a brutal street culture that eventually passed into urban legend.

How do I join?
Come find us in the city and maybe we will like you enough for our gang. Be aware we can only trust you, if you trust us.
You can always hang around with us!
