Reason given for your ban: I made new characters and deleted old ones in order to take advantage of /advent

In your own words, please type why you think you were banned.: I deleted old characters and made new ones so that I could use /advent and gain money. I knew transferring the money to another player or character was unjust and bannable, so all I did with the money was gamble and gain the thrill that came from that. I did not buy anything from any other person, nor did I store money or transfer. All i simply did was make characters so that i could gamble. I lost all the money and made new characters but ultimately, this was stupid and very unlike rp. I understand gambling has risks and rewards and by me doing this, there was never a risk. However, the reward was never taken out of the casino as i always ended gambling my money until i lost everything.

Why should we unban you ?: - I have made a lot of friends and joined a gang. These friends look forward to me hopping into the city and we enjoy the roleplay moments we get together. Most of the city know me through these rp experiences.
- 6 Months prior to this incident, i broke a rule through combat logging with my friends. I was unbanned and was able to learn from that mistake. Since that incident, i haven't broken any rules in this server or any server that i have played on.
- I have never used anything to gain an advantage against any other player.
- I have helped new people who have joined the city by giving them tours and tips on where to work for the best pay.
- I am willing to serve my prison sentence or longer if that's what is necessary to be given a second chance.

Most people do this and they transfer the money as you say, but why on earth would you just keep doing it over and over with new characters? 

I cant seem to make sense of that? Just for the thrill?

Firstly, I’d like to say thank you for taking your time to reply during these busy times.

Most people do what I did and then transfer the money, but that is unjust as it is just a pathetic shortcut to earn money and defeats the aim of working hard to earn a living as you would do in real life. Thus the “G2.9” rule that states that you cannot transfer money or items between characters of your own is in place. I didn’t do this as it defeats my morals of cheating and doesn’t make the roleplay experience fair and consistent for everyone.

Since the ban, I have had the time to look back and see that what I did was just so stupid. I made new characters and gambled as a way to try have extra fun. Scenarios within roleplay gave me so much thrill that there was just no need to do what I did. For example, being in a police encounter where id have an illegally possessed weapon would be close to impossible in real life, and so experiencing high quality roleplaying scenarios gave me and others incredibly great thrills. Gambling with new characters allowed me to use the casino to bet, something I’d never do in real life, but with thousands of dollars and not having to worry about losing money. What I got from gambling with different characters was something so small relative to the rest of the experiences I’ve had and would have if I just didn’t do it. Looking back, I was having so much fun roleplaying with the friends I made that I ultimately just didn’t need to do what I did.

Surely you understand that by you doing this, creating new characters just to put the starting money down in the casino is exploiting the system?

Surely you understood that before taking those actions. 

Why now should we trust that you're going to follow all of our server rules? You didn't the first time?

Upon reflection of the ban, I understand that what I was doing was strictly exploiting the system. I saw by doing what I was doing, I was able to reap benefits as small as they were. By using the characters to simply gamble and not buy anything from anyone, using the shops, or transfer the money, I knew other roleplayer’s experiences and the economy were not being affected. This is what made me believe that I was not hurting the server in any way and thus this foolishly made me do it. That was a completely bad mindset as rules are not meant to be bent around or broken in any way. I knew each and every rule prior to the ban and I simply shouldn’t have broken this rule regardless of the scale of the reward. To ensure my understanding of the rules, I have read over each rule again to the point where I know each one to the fullest.

Prior to this experience, I’ve enjoyed and made others enjoy the high-quality roleplaying within the server. Breaking this rule was so stupid, immature and childish and was just not needed to be done whatsoever. In the past I have proven to learn from my mistakes, and I can honestly say that I pledge to follow every rule as strictly as possible no matter what as they are in place to simply allow for a fair, enjoyable and high-quality roleplaying experience. I hope you will allow me to re-join the server as I have completely learnt from this and can promise no such rule breaking will occur in the future.

1) Do you think your ban alone is enough of a punishment or do you think there should be an ingame punishment for your character(s) if you were to get unbanned?

2) Please quote the server rule you broke and explain to me in your own words what the rule means and why we have the rule in place.

1)      I believe that the ban alone is enough of a punishment as it has made me realise the severity of my actions. However, an in-game punishment would be totally understandable, and I would accept any actions taken as long as I am able to continue my journey within the server.

 

2)      Rule C2.2 states that “Exploiting - Using or attempting to use any exploits in any of our community game servers such as but not limited to duplication of items or money, transferring/processing items through walls and windows or bypassing intended animations.” We have this rule in place to ensure a level playing field within the server and so that nobody has an unfair advantage over others. If this wasnt in place, the rp experience would be ruined.

Right @Rithikyou have 4 character currently. How many of them do you actually use? If so please name the ones that you actual play with as the others will be deleted.

We are going to give you a chance under one condition. You will be banned from the casino for a minimum of 3 months. After the 3 months have passed it's up to you to create a discord ticket and appeal for the chance to be allowed back into the casino.
