Hello and welcome to Roleplay UK's rules! In order to maintain our extremely high quality of roleplay, we have a rather lengthy set of rules that all players must abide by. Therefore we advise that you grab a cup of tea and take time to read and absorb the information here to ensure that your experience on our servers is all good and well!
We have listened to community feedback about our rules and have made some changes. We will now issue temporary bans for periods of 24 hours, 48 hours and 1 week before we move to permanent bans requiring a ban appeal on the forums. This means that our staff spend less time doing administrative work, allowing them to get ingame more often to work to support the community
Roleplay UK is a serious roleplay community, If you are coming from another roleplay community please erase that memory from your mind as things are much different here and very much focused around RP rather than combat.
To start we would like to make clear that this is a friendly community, An adult community and we expect every user to show respect to each other. Do not take things outside the server/onto the forums, or god forbid real life!
The staff team put a lot of hours into this project and these rules, and our ban process is configured in a way which is consistent to all members; one we believe that is fair and one that needs the least amount of administration time so we can focus on the things that really matter. To assist with this it is advised that you record your gameplay.
Please note these are the official rules. If you are told differently please ignore them unless it is from a member of the management team.
With that said and the rules listed below the vast majority of our members who have been here fastly approaching five years now have never been reported or banned. We are fair and at the end of the day we are all here to enjoy ourselves and have fun in a nice environment!
RPUK Fair Bans
Our ban system has transitioned from a permanent ban system to an automated timed ban system where the ban length and rule number will be listed in the ban reason. These bans will automatically expire at the time given in the ban reason, for that reason we will not be accepting ban appeals for any timed ban. You should be aware however that some rules still carry permanent bans and these are listed below in bold.
The length of your ban are the following:
1st Ban - 24 hour ban
2nd Ban - 48 hour ban
3rd Ban - 1 Week Ban
4th Ban - Permanent Ban (Requires Appeal)
This will reset every six months from your last ban to give players a clean slate for continued good behaviour, it should be recognised however that staff may use their discretion to determine if players are using this system to their advantage to facilitate their breaking of rules. Repeated offences of the same rulebreak will escalate up the scale faster. If you receive a 24 hour ban for RDM (A1.2 & G1.2), get unbanned and RDM a second time within 6 months you will move to a 1 week ban.
Roleplay UK is very proud to be an Adult community.
Because GTA5 is rated Mature/17+ by ESRB, and 18+ by PEGI, and our server's location is kind of 'in-between' those jurisdictions, for safeguarding reasons we have elected to adopt an 18+ policy for players on our FiveM server. Players discovered below this age may well find themselves banned, and due to the intricacies of privacy law, identity-fraud and commonsense, may not be unbanned for significant time. We accept no liability for ensuring players are old enough, nor do we get into the minefield of 'proof of age'... it's sufficient to say that if you're under-age, and you get found out, you're gone, once we know. This is for everyone's protection.
However, it certainly doesn't mean you have to be over 18 to be a member of our Forum and Discord community here, and you will find a lot of our members are. We respect the younger people and elders in our community and no discrimination will be tolerated.
We expect people to show respect, act like an adult, and to treat people how you would expect to be treated, to keep this a place that people enjoy and look forward to coming back to. If there is a disagreement then disagree in a noble and adult manner. At the end of the day we are here to have fun and enjoy one of the best role play experiences you will find on the internet.
If you are here for drama or arguments (out of RP character) then it won't be long until you will be shown the door and it is extremely rare to be unbanned for the following important rules.
(C1.1) Bullying - Permanent Ban.
(C1.2) Discrimination - Do not express discriminatory or otherwise offensive views. This is no place for racism, religious hatred, ageism, sexism, homophobia, gender or disability discrimination. - Permanent ban.
(C1.3) OOC Abuse - Swearing at someone outside of roleplay with malicious intent, will not be tolerated.
(C1.4) Any threat to, or harassment of, any person, or the community, will not be tolerated. Depending on the context of the threat we will fully assist the UK police with their enquiries. - Permanent Ban
(C1.5) Any attempts to harm or otherwise disrupt our infrastructure will not be tolerated. We take attacks and threats to attack seriously. We will work with the UK police and other law enforcement authorities and supply any evidence necessary to lead to a conviction. -Permanent ban.
(C1.6) Community Ban - The Staff Team may remove any member from the servers and community at any time if they are considered disruptive to the community or we have a valid reason to believe they are here to cause issues. - Permanent Ban
(C1.7) Common Sense - As a Roleplay game, every situation is different and not everything can be detailed within these rules and so it is important to remember this is an adult community and some things simply come down to common sense.
(C1.8) Forcing or encouraging another member of the community to break a rule.
(C1.9) Age Restrictions - Providing a false age when applying to join a whitelisted faction in order to circumvent the age limits.
(C1.10) Trolling - The following examples are considered trolling however there are multiple others so we advise common sense. Running around the police/medics/anyone, throwing yourself in front of vehicles, playing music in any chat or on teamspeak, bombarding the messaging system, buying multiple vehicles to block spawn areas or using them to blow things up, jumping off buildings without RP , spamming the vote admin or vote kick system, talking/playing music in the lobby screen.
(C1.11) Trading - Roleplay UK does not condone any sort of real life to ingame trading or vice versa. This is due to the fact that we do not want to look like a commercial entity, or any of our members for that case. You are free to donate on behalf of a member as an act of kindness, but not in return for an item. Bad Example: “Whoever wants donator send me 2 million in cash.” Exception: “I am having a cross Altis race, winner will receive a free donator package for one month!” (Please authorise with a staff member if you wish to do this, or we may see it as a breach of this rule.). (C1.12) Sensitive Roleplay - Continuing to roleplay subjects of a sensitive nature after being requested to stop by another player will not be tolerated. Permanent Ban
(C1.13) Idling - We have one of the busiest Roleplay communities in Europe, therefore, if you need to go to the shops or go away from your PC for more than 5 minutes then please kindly disconnect from the game servers.
(C1.14) Threats to report / disputes / Breaking RP in Voice - There are so many people on the server with all different points of view and disputes and disagreements are all part of the game, however please do not discuss them in-game also do not break RP in voice. For example, if someone has RDM’ed you discussing this on the server or saying “I am going to report you” is not allowed. Please use the forums or teamspeak to report or discuss only.
(C1.15) Ban evasion is not allowed - bans apply to the person, not to the account. Creating a new account, or employing any other measure to try to evade a ban will result in the evading accounts being banned, and extension of the original ban. Persistent attempts to evade bans will be met with a community ban.
Cheating *Header needed*
(C2.1) Game modification - Using any sort of modification that changes the functionality of your game is not permitted to be used while you are logged into our servers. This includes non-malicious graphical enhancement utilities. We have systems in place in order to detect and punish users for this type of offence. This offence will result in a permanent ban without chance for appeal.
(C2.2) Exploiting - Using or attempting to use any exploits in any of our community game servers such as but not limited to duplication of items or money, transferring/processing items through walls and windows or bypassing intended animations. Punishment is a permanent ban without appeal. If you discover an exploit that nobody else knows about, please reveal it to a staff member privately in order to ensure that it does not get abused in the future.
(C2.3) Combat logging - Logging out at any point during RP is exploiting. Some examples of this include: logging out during a firefight, being chased by the police, arrested by the police, while dead awaiting a medic, logging out in order to save gear, rage-quitting, logging out whilst restrained/detained. Punishment is a permanent ban. Staff can make an informed decision depending on if you’ve made an attempt to resolve the issue. We do suggest you attempt to rejoin the server and continue the roleplay (try messaging them with the mobile system first).
(C2.4) Combat storing - Storing your vehicle in a way that prevents roleplay such as but not limited to garaging a vehicle whilst you are being chased or impounding/scrapping your vehicle to gain an advantage.
(C2.5) Teleporting - Once you have spawned in you are unable to respawn unless you have been killed or are stuck in a position due to a bug (please take screenshots). You cannot respawn to get to another location quicker. Abusing the garage system to teleport goods is also considered teleporting.
Unfortunately, other Roleplay & gaming servers (or people with community websites) have abused the fact we are popular. They have advertised on our website/teamspeak/servers in the past for their own gains. Because of this we have strict rules around it.
(C3.0) Advertising - Advertising any of the following services* on our servers/website/teamspeak or social media groups without permission is bannable without appeal;
Teamspeak / Voice Services (example: Discord)
Social Media Groups
*It is to the discretion of the staff member who looks at your situation as to what we consider advertising. We advise caution when sharing any ip addresses or such through any of our services. May lead to a permanent ban
Roleplay UK are proud to host one of the busiest teamspeak servers in the UK. For this to remain a nice place to hangout, we have some rules for our teamspeak server.
(C4.1) Common sense - This is an adult community and a lot of the rules come down to common sense, do not swear at people, troll people, bully people otherwise you will simply be banned from teamspeak.
(C4.2) Voice changers & soundboards - It has come to a point where using voice changers or soundboards on our teamspeak has got very old, If you are found using soundboards or voice changers in public rooms including NHS/Police you will be warned, kicked or banned.
(C4.3) Music is only permitted in music rooms or private gang/faction channels. Anyone caught playing music in public rooms will be warned, kicked or banned.
(C4.4) Offensive avatars or avatars of a questionable nature should not be used, you will be warned, kicked or banned depending on the avatar.
(C4.5) Imitation - Impersonating other members such as changing your name is punishable by a ban.
Roleplay UK has a very active and busy forum which gains over 1 million hits per month, therefore we have very strict rules to keep it a place people want to visit daily.
Breaching the following rules will lead to warning points and your forum account may be restricted for 7 days or permanently banned
(C5.1) Common sense - This is an adult community and a lot of the rules come down to common sense. (Swearing at people, trolling people, bullying people, spamming, inappropriate language, signature violation, topic bumping)
(C5.2) Using a questionable avatar or name
(C5.3) Creating threads with the intention to cause issues or drama
(C5.4) Commenting on a report a player thread that is not involving you, or in which you took no active part in the situation featured in the report.
(C5.5) Commenting on a ban appeal that is not involving you.
(C5.6) Using status updates or non member support forum's to talk about or discuss bans
Roleplay.co.uk has a very highly trusted staff team who give up a lot of their time to make the servers enjoyable and continue to provide the best roleplay experience you will find. They are not here to be abused or sworn at. Here are some rules connected to the staff team.
(C6.1) Any decision the staff team make is final.
(C6.2) Abuse/swearing or unpleasant behaviour towards the staff team is not acceptable - Permanent Ban
(C6.3) When ingame, staff will wear their special ‘Tron Suit’ when they are on official duty only. Please ignore that they are there unless they ask you a question.
(C6.4) Please refrain from messaging staff members via private message/comments or adding their personal social media/steam accounts unless they invite you to do so.
(C6.5) Any abuse of a staff position in any shape or form will lead to removal and possibly a ban.
(C6.6) Staff may not teleport, spawn in items/money in order to help a player in any shape or form. (Unless there is a just reason).
(C6.7) Staff will not take payment or accept any sort of bribe from anyone, this will lead to the staff member being removed and/or community banned, and the person offering the bribe to also be banned.
(C6.8) Staff will not discuss internal goings on behind the scenes with anyone from outside of the team. This includes any future updates or decisions made by the team, this will result in removal from the staff team and may lead to a community ban. (Please note, this does not apply to the developers and other content creators, as they may need to request something from a member).
(C6.9) All rules apply to all staff members, apart from in extreme circumstances where an override is needed. (A member of the management team will handle a situation where you feel a staff member abused the ability to make themselves exempt).
