Please (in detail) describe the incident: Morning all!

So had a sleep on this one and just didn’t sit right with myself or the majority of the occult.

For context the occult decided to have a traveller themed night where we would parade the city in our caravans and setup camp where we deemed fit, this was legion first, then mrpd carpark, we were met with instant hostility and threats due to private property and moved off private property to receive the same threats.

The occult decided to de-escelate, leave the area and settle in Vespucci PD where the police locked us in and told us we are to leave on foot and they are taking the caravans, this inevitably lead to a firefight, occult fleed inside of Vespucci PD for cover and held the stairway until there was an opportunity to flee. This went on for some time and hopefully both parties enjoyed it.

During the firefight we witness a sniper rifle actively pushing a stair case, now I understand there are no police rules on usage of it but a little common sense should be used here. A sniper rifle in a close quarter combat setting just makes zero sense and seems a way to achieve an easy one shot kill above all else. I’d also like to point the occult are fully aware OOC we do not win this situation and we are to have the kitchen sink thrown at us, rightly so it’s a PD! But I can run the situation over a million times in my head and can’t see a single occasion where a police asset such as a sniper rifle is a sensible option in a stair way.

We have attempted to reach out to polcom where we have essentially been met with sarcasm and comments which aren’t helping the situation which has led to unfortunately me posting this.

I hope you didn't lose any sleep over a sniper in a police station clearing a building full of armed individuals with Ars, AK-47s, shotguns and submachine pistols. Are you stating I didn't use common sense or you didn't since you were in the corridors and stair case of a police station with heavy artillery? You made a terrible decision and I was your escape goat as you were shocked to see a sniper that was in the air, land and clear the rest of the building. The majority of you were taken out by a valiant Front line with a pistol and some trojans, but then again a sniper is the talk of the town since you were not expecting it. Im unsure what you want from me since you didn't bother reaching out to me, I don't think there was much to explain but if you still wish I can speak to you in a liaison.

Hi mate!

No sleep lost mate just a game, just don’t like rushing into a decision.

Ultimately the sit was brilliant and props to those who took part, the stairwell was held well and for much longer than we expected I can’t lie as far as a terrible decision, agreed but not much else we could have done other than be sitting ducks in the carpark.

Your not a scapegoat at all here mate so apologies if it comes across that way, we just feel a sniper pushing a stair way is a case of common sense, do you honestly think it was a suitable asset to use in a CQB environment? You have mentioned above numerous weapons which were used, what were your intentions going in with that?

I haven’t reached out to you directly we decided to reach out to polcom as per my original message, I’m not happy with how it’s being dealt with as it’s been met with a similar attitude and instead of constructive conversation we have been met with sarcasm, I did reach out with ooc during sit and was met with a few comments such as stop playing the victim you have shotguns.

Your gang lead asked if the sniper was allowed to be deployed inside a police station. I identified to him that there is no rule forbidding the use of the ops rifle on the ground and, if anything, it puts it in arms reach for you to be able to steal it had you been successful in whatever it was your group were trying to achieve. Would you rather it only be deployed in a helicopter so there is a minimal chance for it to fall into criminal hands? Because it seems like that’s what you’re looking to achieve here should this report be actioned.

I apologise if any comments in the group leads channel have offended you or came across as sarcastic. I do think it’s a little disingenuous to insinuate we don’t take issues seriously as I’m sure if your gang lead looks back 24 hours at a different conversation, he will be able to tell you just how accommodating we can be to try and ensure fair play across the board.

Normally, a report is left for 24 hours so every involved party can say their peace - But, I'm not going to waste anyone's time when I can give the answer to this topic already.


@AdamD - We do not have rules in place to dictate how weapons on the server should or should not be used, it's up to the individual player to decide how they wish to play the game. Certain assets are gate-kept with strict faction policies within RP, but those policies are not to be confused with OOC rules as they are entirely within the confines of the roleplay world.
