But why? Only makes it easier for people to meta metagame how many is on from each gang.(which is already easy enough for civs)

Yeh looking trough ts is harder as people use different names ingame to avoid being metagamed in numbers or to avoid people raiding their house as soon as they come on. TBh the whole gang system where every civ can see exactly the number of members in other gangs + their names is flawed and needs to hide that info in my opinion.

I feel like we should have numbers and gangs need to ensure to have them in order aswell so when you look up player list you dont have to count it would just be OG1, OG2. And then you wouldnt even have to count to metagame
