No I don’t, I only saw him for second or 2 but I hit him before he went into the room (shows him being hit when he is in the room) then he runs out and I kill him on my screen but he runs into the room. I basically see him second or 2 after I should see him. Making it so quite often you are killed in a bs way on your screen but completely Legit on the person who kills you. @Jaffa

Also just to be clear, we haven't sat and done nothing, we've experimented with stuff in the background but don't comment when we do as we'd end up no better off, see: placebos.

@Jaffa what would be your opinion on trialing the server without some of the continuous scripts running? Would it be possible? Personally I don't ever really lag on any other servers, that being KOTH, RP etc. and if I do, it's so minimal that I wouldn't really notice.

@Wilco correct me if i'm wrong but the decamp script was only added because when someone would decamp it would take a second to for the player on the outside of the vehicle to see the person who decamped. I herd that the devs at the time the decamp script was implemented didn't know how to put a delay on the decamp. It's been asked time and time again to be removed, granted it's not causing the "server lag" but i think now is the best time to do a community vote for it to be removed and put all the suggestions and status updates to rest, if there are more votes for no than yes then fair enough. Like you said this community has turned into a "democracy" for the people should get a vote. Not trying to cause drama or anything.

@Linx not a decision I was ever involved in or have studied much about, The devs want it in for restriction (they always develop with roleplay at the forefront) I expect Ciaran , DJ or Jaffa will comment

Personally I would be more than happy to see a vote for it to be removed if that’s what the community wants.

I've always been inbetween removing it and keeping it. Removing changes everything, MRAP's become useful, combat becomes much more fast paced and gunfights won't last as long. But then you got the whole can you shoot the vehicle driving towards you as it might be involved. 
Only reason I don't like the idea is being shot before the person is visible by you. So a delay would work well. Or alternatively changing the decamp to a 'Get Weapon Out' rather then 'put weapon away, get weapon out'

Why does every post turn into decamp script discussions. This was about desync and lagg and now its about decamp script?

@Dexterr every other server that i know of all have a short delay just enough to where the player is seen jumping out the vehicle, we've had the decamp script for 2 or 3 years (can't remember when it was implemented) however, it would be nice to have a change of pace on the server basically a new meta, i feel as though it would freshen things up a bit. Just means you can go decamp the roaches ----> @Josh Black

@Cool was the decamp script not mentioned previously in the post as a potential issue with the lag/desync. just thought id add something as to why it should be removed, in no way has this post turned into a discussion about the decamp script being removed.

I mean I'm sure all these bullets flying about is causing most of the lag. Surely if we remove all weapons it will fix the lag and change the pace on the server and create a new meta. 
This was a status update made to ask the devs if they're looking into the lag which they always are.
You've somehow turned it into a discussion on the decamp script and then wonder why the devs don't talk to the community.

So because some members of the community decided to focus on a single point brought up (decamp script) that means the devs won't talk to us? Sounds bizarre.

The devs use their own spare time to work on improving the community, why would the devs decide to not talk to the community simply because someone changed a focus point of the discussion? Makes no sense but yanno

Dont know what it is, but it annoys me that I get 15 frames per second in a situation when the server is full.  when on KOTH or TDM I get good frames. Maybe its because of all the runs on the map that are not even being used? Dont think its all decamp script related.

That's not at all what I meant, let me rephrase. If people would think twice and do a small bit of research before posting something and stopped making every single thing go off topic devs might be end up being more inclined to speaking with the community. 
Decamp script is not a constantly running script it's an eventhandler
Runs on the maps do not cause lag
The cleanup script literally reduces lag
Most of the lag would likely be caused by calculations needing to be done, that being damage, shots being spawned in and traveling, player data, vehicles moving etc.
on a roleplay server you'll have almost most of the map being loaded at one time rather then being restricted to a small area

You’re saying that most of the lag is likely coming from calculations that ARMA revolves around? By your logic, servers like KOTH would be literally unplayable. There are 200+ player servers running smoother and with less lag, so I do disagree with you. IMO it would have to be certain continuous scripts running on this server or a bad host server, but that’s just my opinion without seeing anything behind the scenes and from my experience on other servers.

If you'd taken my advice and done some research before posting you would know that lag comes form calculations, Yes KOTH servers do run more smoothly but that's simply down to them not having as many vehicles, loading a smaller portion of the map, don't sync money transfers, don't handle virtual items, don't have as much sync to a database, don't have half the features RPUK does and the list goes on. Thing is almost everything needs to be calculated otherwise you would not have any player control. 
What continuous scripts do you think there are on the server?

@Kempi Anderson some points you have mentioned i do agree with but you saying, gunfights cause lag I would like to go into this one a little more. 

Now we all know there are other roleplay community’s out there (if that’s what you’d call them) i won’t mention any names, but there are servers out there that use just as much as the map as we do and really let’s be honest, 99% of other ‘roleplay’ communities are based around gunfights, now I’m not sure if you have ever logged onto any of these servers but they don’t have the lag that we have and like I’ve said, them other servers have constant gunfights. 

Maybe this is something that is beyond fixable im not too sure as I’m not a dev. And I’m pretty sure that if the devs knew how to decrease server lag then they would. But to blame server lag on gunfights for me I would disagree, would i say it plays a small factor? 100% but I would not say that this is the issue revolving around server lag. For example exile modded servers have great FPS and are 100% based around gunfights. There’s clearly something else that is causing the server to lag a lot more than usual, What I’m not sure on.

Agree with Shaun on this one ive played on a lot of servers some more combat orientated than others and never ever did i lag on any of thoose servers despite them having the same map with just as many objects and probably even more vehicles due to the combat nature of it.Its truly a shame as i think we have the superior server to any other with the rp and the rules that keep it going smoothly yet we have this massive lag thats just unbearable at some times.
