Earlier today a DSGT, SGT and 2 CSO's created a Police Checkpoint close to the UNMC in the hopes of "Filtering the shit" that flows to them. It didn't take long for UNMC to respond to this operation and they approached us with their concerns and demands to move up. After a fatality (poor guy...) we managed to have a conversation that lasted at least 20 odd minutes. In this time both teams expressed their views and opinions, their reasoning for their actions and how they felt it would be best to proceed.
After moving the checkpoint up the road as requested the Police were then approached again, this time by an Ifrit, Strider and Armed Offroad. The UNMC Superior discussed their issue with what was happening and so began our second talk. This lasted another good 10 minutes and both teams discussed in depth what was happening and why.
A point was reached where the Police had an option. Evacuate the area or defend it as it was interfering with the UNMC jurisdiction and business. It was during this time that Officers who were otherwise engaged made the effort to dedicate their time to reinforcing a department which to be fair is miles away.
One final chat occurred and a 5 minute window was given to prepare.
Once it began there were fatalities on both sides and it ended up with some sort of a Mexican standoff with both teams having guns pointed at one another waiting for something to trigger another gunfight.
After a few minutes of calm, Superiors in the Police Department believed it in the best interest of everyone to leave the area and resume normal patrol. A signal was given to the UNMC which they understood and adhered to which allowed Police to leave the area whilst giving the UNMC chance to return to their original duties.
I would like to thank everyone involved in this "event" for their professionalism and restraint. Considering how well equipped both teams were, it could have been a true shitstorm. The RP that occurred before the actual fighting was fantastic and it really does make me proud to be part of this community. Looking back there are times I have honestly questioned if there would ever be situations where both Police and Rebels could reach mutual agreements and simply talk things over rather than resolve it in firefights.
To the Officers who were on regular patrol during this. Thank you for your continued efforts to keeping the streets safe you brave bastards.
To the Officers involved in the event. Great work, great communications, professionalism and Roleplay. I hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did.
To the UNMC involved. Thank you for your excellent display of RP, professionalism and self restraint. I am (as I mentioned) fully aware of the power you have, and I know the initial situation could have been resolved a lot quicker and would have resulted in the deaths of 4 Officers.
To sum up. Your RP got me hard. GG and be proud of your RP skills.
Cheers everyone. I Look forward to seeing you all out their again.
