A question about the rules

This is in no way a report of any sort. Just disregard the names you see on the video.  I just want to get opinions about this situation here.

Backstory: I was doing a diamond run, and this guy came to the diamond processor in a chopper with two of his buddies. One of them died while landing and the other one dc'd I guess. I kept having a bit of a small talk with the last one of them while i was processing the diamonds. After i was done i said i'll guess i'll see you around and then he pulled out his gun and the rest you can see on the video. What I was saying on the video was just a bluff to make him leave.

What I want is some opinions about him shooting me. I posed no real threat to this guy and I feel like the RP hadn't gone up to the point that it was okay for him to take my characters life. And when he said he will shoot me I had no time to respond as you can see on the vid. After he shot me he just circled around my body for a couple of mins until his friends came back and they lockpicked my car and left. So really he could have just lockpicked the car with me standing next to him. It's kind of annoying that now my character can't even remember this situation in game and I can't take the roleplay even further by recognizing his face when i see him etc.

Does this qualify as quality RP the rules demand for killing someone? Is this kind of action okay for me to do in the future? Only times I've ever shot anyone is when I feel they pose a real threat to me.

im sure someone more experienced will weigh in, but looks like he demanded action, gave you lots of warnings, and you didnt comply, so he was allowed to take lethal action.

He was definitely allowed to take lethal action and I think the OP is aware of this. It's more the point he used this lethal action when it was completely unneeded. Hell he barely demanded action was asking for the keys instead of just roleplaying finding the keys and taking them.

Obviously this is a video of something completely out of context but from the looks of the video there was a lot of other options available to the robber than just shooting. Like the OP said, his buddies came a short while later and lockpicked it so why couldn't they have done this a lot earlier.

It's just the whole 'just because you can shoot doesn't mean you have too' idea.

I know mate, but its the server rules.... also since OP claimed he had friends who were coming, since they can shoot on sight, he might have feared for his life and shot.

I have witnessed situations where the armed guy was RPing with the hostage who said he had friends coming, and those friends came and shot him without warning (fine as far as im aware) so he could have just wanted to rob and go.

Yeah my point exactly. I didn't feel like I had to ask him to come on ts nor do I have any will to report him. I just want to have discussion about him killing me instead of taking a different path for a better roleplay experience for both parties.

see my post above. saying you had friends who would kill him on sight kinda escalated it from robbery to a potential shoot out.

I'm not saying he should have shot you. and its always a shame when people feel the need to shoot anyone, because its weak RP IMO, but I'm just playing devils advocate and trying to see why he did it.

I understand what I said probably made him a bit more trigger happy, but the fact that he shot me would've made my imaginary friends even more aggressive towards him. And he did stick around for maybe 5mins after I was shot. One time I did shoot a guy with his hands above his head, but that was after his friend arrived at the scene with his gun drawn so I felt like the other guy became a threat aswell since we hadn't restrained him. Maybe the rules should state that killing has to be the last resort. Not an option.
