Add a 2nd truck/van sales company somewhere else in the city?

So we have four or five different car dealerships (I am guessing, I havent counted - but the point is made), only one boat dealer, one truck dealer and one aircraft dealer.

Boats I can understand are a one off purchase, aircraft - well unless youre planning on opening some sort of long haul airline I cant see you needing too many of those, not at the prices they charge... 😄

But a truck dealer, a single one. Considering road haulage is one of the primary sources of economic contribution for the majority of players I think it might be a reasonable idea to add a 2nd truck dealer, potentially using one of the existing car dealerships? I honestly havent checked if all are established and stocked.

I think it would solve the problem of the bottle neck for trucking so that if the owner/staff are inactive then at least another dealership can pick up the slack. Trucks (and the storage contained therein) are essential to new players as they are effectively their "houses" when they first begin their RP adventure. I think it would be a good idea to allow more people to be able to go on that journey as truck sales people or whatever else.

Yeah +1 for this, extremely hard to get hold of trucks these days. Which in turn has driven truck prices through the roof.

They sell out all their trucks regardless, all that's needed is more trucks available in that trucking shop, not another trucking shop

Agree with LiKs here would rather see more trucks sold out of one dealership then more trucking dealerships/converted car dealerships.

-1 I think that having one of each of these specialist places makes more sense than loads. Naturally you will always have more car dealerships compared to other modes of transport as cars are the main transport of the city.

From my experience, the trucking yard has always had the same prices. It's never raised them. It just sells out because people know how crucial they are. The truck staff makes sure to make it fair with a first come first serve, and nobody takes the piss either. So if you really want a truck that bad, just get there in time.

The reason truck prices are so expensive is caused people see an opportunity to make more money as there are only so many imported a month.

I agree with this entirely. We do not need more shops, just more stock so it can be distributed more evenly and more people get a chance to get one

This is also 100% correct. And the dealership gets lots of trucks that have good storage. Not just the ones that sell out - maybe adding another cheap 500 van would help with people?

Also to add the manager of the trucking shop is potentially one of the most active and available people I know 😛

I can't comment on the aircraft, bicycle or boat dealerships but that is just my experience with the trucking shop.

+1. Nothing wrong with a bit of healthy competition irrespectively. If the supply is outstripped by the demand for trucks and from all of the above -1s it clearly is so why shouldn't another group of players get a crack at running their own truck shop too?

Echoing what has been said below, Adding another shop for trucks wouldn’t make a different since it would just be 2 shops with the same amount of stock split between them, simple as that really. I was at the truck shop on last restock and everything was selling really fast, so just need to get there quick enough

Right......

So there's a limited quantity of stock available each month irrespective of the number of vendors? Why is this? Anyone?

This applies to all types of vehicles, every vehicle on the server has x amount brought into the city each month therefore keeps the rarer vehicles rare etc… keeps the market competitive, prevents the server being flooded with supercars and ensures a continuous flow of customers over months for dealerships.

Itali RSX for example, only 2 per month.

Giving dealerships unlimited vehicles would simply kill the car market and saturate the server.

Thank you. Good to know. Then perhaps this would be better to change this to a higher limit on some of the more "important" vehicles in terms of utility and then keep the rarer stuff, such as super cars etc rare. I think that's spinning off in a whole other direction but its food for thought.

Thanks as always chris you are a true legend in this comm.

don't currently see the need for another commercial dealership as long as bosh and his employees are actively around to help people out

upping some of the stock, would maybe not be a too bad of a shout

Usually tweeting from the main account means someone is there. They wouldn't advertise it if they were shut 🤷‍♀️
Lol. I am not sure if youve misinterpreted what i meant but I mean people tweeting about wanting to BUY trucks, I can assure you im not that dense as to think what youve implied.

Not misinterpreting at all, literally just reading what you put 😂 you may not be dense, but my response was still correct 😛

I hope the people tweeting get their trucks, still no need for a second truck shop though 🤷‍♀️
