Adjust stealing emergency service props

Let me get straight to the point,

I see people steal whole concrete barrier's. these weigh IRL 1200kg to 4700kg per block (thats the weight of a minimum of 15 people weighting +- 12 stone)

And emergency lights that are also used at aircraft locations meaning these are drilled and screwed into the flooring as well.

My suggestion is for these 2 items to no longer be able to get stolen.
It's very frustrating that during any type of event you will have people behave like baldies because they want to have a concrete Barrier in their pocket to just throw out whenever they fancy.
It makes G6,NHS,Fire,Ranger and police assisted/lead events very difficult as you will need people just staring at these props securing them instead of participating in the actual event.

For the people still needing their steal fix, they can still steal the blue gazebo, medbags, single cone and cone barrier.

why would a civilian/criminal have access to emergency service equipment anyway. it makes no sense in an rp situation for a criminal or civi to whip out a concrete barrier from their "pocket"

If we could obtain then other ways for legit RP reasons I would happily +1 this
Out of the top of my head:

1. Rob a service member. (Hands up!)
2. Interact with them and find a corrupt member (there are always some)
3. If they forget to lock their car and it's in the booth that's their fault. (oeh piece of candy)
4. Contact command of a emergency service and discusss possible selling/loaning. (if this change gets implemented it might be easier for this to happen as well)

Added Suggestion could be that they might have a 1% chance of showing up in a bin?

Let me ask you this, how many people did it take to put down? why should a weight logic only be in place for robbers/crims and not those whom put them down?

these are two different things for two different scenarios. You have "placeable" emergency lights that can be picked up freely, the aircraft ones are drilled in meaning they can't be picked up as they don't need to be moved.

Why is this labelled as "baldie" behavior? Not everything goes according to plan, that's the fun part. If you have things stolen at event's why don't you go through an RP route ei getting police or G6 to get the items back and either arrest them for theft or move them on elsewhere?

There is no reason for this to be changed.

there is also the script that only allows emergency services to access it and they can not be picked up by civis at all.

As a G6 who has to have officers stood watching this stuff because people have no self control and don't even Rp taking the concrete barriers, imho i think this should be changed to only services having access to them.

I say it with chest as a crim I love taking these when i get the opportunity its a nice little bonus when you get it. We actually use them in rp its not just Police/NHS/G6 who use them sounds like another suggestion to limit what people can do on there crim characters.

don't even Rp taking the concrete barriers
What RP do you want? "Oi mate im going to take your concrete barriers can you taze me when you notice be stealing them" No the whole objective is not to be caught if you do catch them thats when the RP Starts no?

we stand and watch them the whole time, crims just take them without saying a word, its not even RP at that point, we have tazed people, tackled people and they still take it and run off.

If you can get them another way rather than coming up to the barrier and using an emote to hide that you are taking the barrier that is fine, I have had people take the barriers from in front of me, said nothing and walked of, I have had it when they just turn around and stab us or shoot us, most criminals are not worth Rping that stuff with, their fragile ego gets dented and then G6 end up Incapacitated over a barrier/cone. it is not a suggestion to limit what crims can do, that comment just shows you have not really read it, the suggestion is to try and open up RP for G6 and others instead of having to baby sit a pixel barrier, so some crim doesn't run off with it and potentially ruins the event.

I must say AE has their own collection of the barriers and lights and such that we've collected (legally and from "borrowing") but they are used for events... Padrinos use theirs for the ring when they do the boxing at last train diner. Vanilla unicorn used theirs to control traffic during car washes. The motel used theirs to block the entrance for the partys. They are used by "crims and civs" more often than you think. I dont think its fair for the option to steal it being taken away if they arent obtainable any other way. Also you say its not logical for someone to whack it out of their pockets unless g6/fire/nhs/police but how is it logical for them? They dont RP it they just whack it down and pick it back up like everyone else and at the end of the day it doesnt cost you anything for pulling them out of storage so apart from having to be on guard duty its not that bad?

I mean it is me that uses them 98% of the time for G6 as it is my unit that uses them, i go through a lot of RP discussing the barriers and the stuff we can use them for when i am doing meetings for the event, i also rp getting them out of the car and usually there are two of us doing it, we also arrive a lot earlier to set up as to not be seen just "whacking" them down, so . . .

VU was rped with G6 setting it up for their car washes, (both times this my setting up) , the motel was also G6 and done in rp having them taken out the cars, this is why the cars where also parked right next to them. i know crims do use them as we also help with their events like we did for the last AE event at the casino grounds

its not just barriers either, it is any placeable that we put down for the events for those attending the event, we spend our time setting up for someone to pinch it with 0 and i mean 0 rp. its just annoying more than anything, i would even be up for the concrete barriers to be on the back like a crate. if we are not near by they just get taken without any RP and if we try to RP it G6 just get jumped on. i mean we had one guy take the barrier for at the bottom of a stack that was used to stop inmates, he said nothing and just left with it.

Don't get me wrong, if ya get them then fair do. The issue is not many people do anything revolving the actual process of taking them, any sort of /me at all, it's just silence and then the barrier pops and we lose it. Now in fairness this isn't every single person in existence, some people do act out how they take things and to them I appreciate that.

I think the main issue is that when tazed or tackled the process isn't interrupted it just carries on which is where I think the downside comes from, if you get hit by a tazer, beanbag or tackled I personally feel like it should interrupt the process making you rethink it, not just waltz up, tried steal it before getting tazed and the barrier popping.

If by some stealth 100 moment you get up close, ya manage to steal it without interrupt I think that's 100% fair game at that point. You've put effort into it either through a distraction or lack of awareness from G6/NHS/Police.

We recently set a precedent through the courts (can be read here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1OCaMiklxkG-uZEQ5Lg2Y1A3_wUvIFTLww_Fdn564L8E/edit?tab=t.0) where Pawnshops are legally allowed to sell Red Lights, Cones, Handcuffs, Concrete barriers etc as they can potentially be legally obtained.

IRL, you could buy all these types of things online or from building merchants etc, giving a easier way of obtaining these IG would make stealing them less enticing.
Making something harder to obtain, is likely only going to increase the problem here IMO.
