All those donations - what do they do?

Well right now there's £1,800 in donations which is a massive amount of money. What actually happens to the money after server costs/rental costs and such? Where does all this "profit" go?

Well I thought that the community donated to charity or something like that but I assume I was mislead?

Im sorry to tell you this, but i must confess.

It all gets spent on my KFC, not a penny left by the end of the month. Wilco has been hooking me up for a good few months now.

To sum up:

Alot of it is used on DDOS protection, servers and any programs we need.

Leftovers are saved for next month. We have a stockpile so when the donations stop, we can go for a long time unaffected.

Some people say that the money is used for the funding of Domino's for Wilco and Irn Bru for Ciaran, but actual it's being used to build a life size Altis to bring the best RP experience. The developing of the magical teleportation that you see when youve been send to prison, takes a lot of money to make. So keep on donating and keep hoping it is finished soon.

There is a post on the forum that shows i currently do this full time but in terms of funding the servers etc are costing around £600 a month... what happens with the excess ? well apart from my small bills that i am lucky to have looking ahead at some point our donations will drop to a point where its coming out of my pocket again like it was before.

It also gives us a nice war chest should we need it for any legal reasons and any extra things we buy to aid the community

When we started taking donations wasn't part of the plan and it took us a few months to even start taking donations with the server along with the forum licensing it was a pretty expensive start up.

I could however sit here and give no information of where the money goes like the majority of gaming community's

@Wilco can spend the cash on midget prostitutes for all I care. Doing this full time takes commitment and a shit tonne of patience and that merits reward, so if wilco wants to spend my dime on pint sized penis entertainment then he has my full blessing.

Ah that pretty much sums it up. It's like 3.6x the current target goal and it's an insane amount of cash I was just fairly curious. I need to upgrade my PC before I can start playing actively here then I'll consider becoming a donator. You may close this thread.
