Well I got my 1080 G1 card today tried arma 3 on 1080p goes around 48-50 fps on ultra. Obviously the game is cpu based but damn not much difference from my 970.  Gotta try other games.

I did do heaven benchmark got around 90 fps to 200 on some scenes.

Sorry I was running arma 3 on High around 43-56 fps with 970 so yeah 1080 on Ultra big difference. If I had 970 on ultra it be 30 fps.

Intel 6700K 4.2GHZ

That has to be pretty disappointing DAMN YOU ARMA !!!

ever considered overclocking your CPU that's what gives huge performance boost in Arma

I really wanna get the 1080, just left here with my 7970 :D

Damn thats got to hurt I play 40-60FPS with a AMD 390x on ultra a card that costs half the 1080 price on a stock speed i7 4790k

Arma is literally the worst game to benchmark your 1080 ... Go play Doom, GTA V or any other GPU intensive games.

Here's a worse senario:

gpu = 660ti @1250 oc'd

cpu = i5 2500k Oc'd @4.5ghz

16gb Ram

dedicating cores to textures

Since 1.60 ultra settings  & 6k View distance/4k objects  = 55- 65FPS constant.

Cost - now £400 - then = £1400

No reason for me to upgrade just yet; albeit Ive been interested to see the impacts of AMD and Nvidia and the next 12 months are going to be crazy.

however with all that  said: I will be upgrading to 10nm cannon-lake in 2017 with which ever nvidia card lands first....on the 100 chipset. 1060 = 106 chipset

1070 on 104 chipset

1080 is 102  chipset

so assuming it'll be the 1090?

My my problem at the minute it's not clear what the MoBo will be for 10nm cannon lake chipsets?
