True, but I slogged my butt off to make 30 mil to get it, It drives people away yes but not having it causes clog upsRight but it's ok if other peoples stuff is scrapped right?
Sorry i'm a noob (who has just returned after a absence) and when I started out in this game last year I had three of my Hermmt's scrapped by thieves in a short space of time, this pretty much killed the game for me, as I don't carry a gun (nor want to) and i'm not allowed to run over people who pull guns on me as that's against the rules, but they are allowed to grief for kicks.
The people who start this game don't have millions and spend lots of time and effort getting the cash together to buy those vehicle, bringing back this grief mechanic would drive away lot's of newcomers who once they lost that first vehicle might just give up.
You might get your jollies but you could also end up driving someone away from the game.
I think this is a very good idea- Maybe get it a bit more RPey and say that it's insurance, or maybe make it so you have to buy the insurance. Maybe have different tiers of insurance that dictate how long until you get the vehicle back. This system coupled with an exp/level/training/licence thing for the actual scrapping part would make it a much less annoying thing for those who don't like it.A possible solution is to bring back the scrap dealer but when they scrap a vehicle instead of it being removed from the owners garage permanently it is instead placed on a 48hr timer, where it cannot be pulled from the garage again until the timer expires. This will still have a negative effect on the owner without them actually having lost all of the effort needed to acquire the vehicle in the first place.
It might also promote more RP as people find solutions to surviving for that time period.
Good point, cops are less inclined to chase down a stolen car since there are no consequences.Don't really mind either way as I'm an Officer and it's all handed to me on a plate hah banter.
However, I do feel obliged to offer ideas to make the scrapyard better should it be brought back.
Have a timing requirement for the pad, I think 3 minutes would be a sweet spot. Back in the days of old there were too many people using it as a way to personally attack, troll and piss off people, because they know it can be quite financially damaging. This also reinforces the Roleplay factor. A lot of times Police would attempt to intercept, or gangs would, or the owners themselves would, but the people know as soon as it's on the pad they can insta scrap, it's unrealistic that the guy would just do it then and there with so much heat about, I don't even think a GTA V mod shop would accept em at that point. Forcing them to remain within the pad for 3 minutes means they have to actually put some time into financially attacking people, and it increases the chance of people getting them back, or Police intervening.
