Do you need to fly with the advanced flight model still?

So @Dr NormanI will pass it with flying colours then xD

get it FLYING colours

no..... Noooooo

As norman says, there's no mandatory requirement for it, however to provide the most complete and professionsl flights you would need to.

I think the exam isn't easy for those who are not familiar with procedurely based tasks, however if that's you then you'll be fine.

The standard of the entrants so far has been high, and rightly so. It's not a stunt flying circus but a location where the best of the best can be found demonstrating high levels of professionalism and expertise.

How did norman get in though? Lmao ;) ;)

if you apply,  good luck.

Anyone up for doing barrel rolls in the huron?

what even is the advanced flight model
The default Arma3 flight model actually auto-corrects your horizontal / vertical movement. e.g. if you let go of your controller, you will automatically end up in a hover.
Advanced flight model is much more realistic, if you let go of your controller, you'll eventually carry on the momentum till you crash into the ground. Advanced flight model can be enabled in your Arma3 options menu.

This makes landing / hovering much more complicated for novice Arma3 pilots.

if it makes everything much more complicated, than what's the point of doing it?

Hello, I'm Flight Instructor Tobias Ambers.

To answer your question about what flight model to use in British Airways we are currently NOT required anyone taking the test to become BA Captain to use advance flight model but you can score higher in the test if you use it as we have bonus points for people that can use the correct taxi and certain types of landing.

If you wanting to take a test to see how you score contact me VIA message on the BA radio and we can put you into a mock test just make sure you have read your BA handbook that can be found in all of channel headers as 70% of people fail with the flight planning, in the hand book you will find a rough guide to the test and what we expect.

Hope this helps you and good luck.
