Right, after some digging and talking to a staff member. I have decided to approve this compensation request.
Upon further investigation, you did buy it but didn't remove it, confirming it as a bug. 

The money will have to be used to re-buy the assets that you've purchased prior. (Colored Headlights) 

So I'm going to be issuing you compensation for the total value lost:
