Cypress is a tight-knit collective formed by a group of friends who possess a unique blend of creativity, entrepreneurship and business acumen. United by a shared vision, these individuals are driven by their admiration for early hip hop artists (notably the group known as ‘’Cypress Hill’’), street racing and their embrace of Zen and Chan Buddhist teachings.
The path to Zen and Buddhism for this group began with their passion for nitrous fuelled, customized, enhanced cars. As they became more involved in the street racing scene, they found themselves inspired by the beauty, grace, and speed of these vehicles as well as the focus and discipline required to race and maintain them which demanded complete concentration and presence of mind. As they became more skilled and knowledgeable, they found themselves seeking deeper meaning in their lives, looking to push themselves further.
They were drawn to this philosophy, which emphasized the importance of mindfulness, inner peace and living life to the fullest. They saw parallels between these principles and the discipline and focus required to race and work on their machines.
The former gang members in the group pooled their knowledge of the ins and outs of the criminal underworld and the importance of always having each other's backs. As the group continued to develop and refine their skills, they also learned about the importance of discipline, respect, and loyalty.
Despite their reputation as street racers, the group saw themselves as something more. They were a tight-knit collective, with a shared vision and a purposeful mission. A group of individuals who had found a sense of community and purpose through their shared passions.
As they continued to explore their ideals, they found that they were becoming more content and fulfilled, and that their passion for cars and racing was taking on new meaning. They realized that the pursuit of excellence in their passions was not only a means of personal growth and development, but also a way to create a better world and to connect with others.
Wisdom is constant growth, with this, Cypress will continue to blossom.
