This could be another controversial suggestion and probably divisive between Crim Mains and Fed mains but think this needs putting out there and since no Crim mains have put this out or at least that I have seen, I thought that I currently maining Police, should put this out to the community and dev team.

I believe that the current Points systems for both DL and Vehicle is in my opinion, too much for 1 situation, where, for example, you shoot 1 police officer from your car and incapacitate them you are then subject to an instant 15pts on the car/bike and for a system that does not allow you to either pay of your points or they get removed over time is far too excessive. From my view Crims have to grind for all the money they earn obviously and when if you get caught during a shootout where you used a rev for example not only are you losing a 600k plus rev you are guaranteed around 6 hrs in jail and ontop of all that if you shot from your car you are getting points on license and your car this in my eyes is far too much.

I think there are a few ways that this could be changed from what I've thought there are 3 main ways I believe this can be fixed/improved.

------ Giving the ability to pay off your points ------

I believe that this would help crimes a lot, mainly because driving is so essential to this server and at the end of the day it is a game and we all play to have fun and while I understand that as police we need to rp as such and giving points on licenses is essential to that but I believe it is too excessive at the moment. As for price per point I'm not 100% sure but could be something like 100k per point or something similar this is for both car and driving licence I believe this would allow crimes to choose what is more important to them and with the new ability for you to see your points through the keychain people would be able to pay off points when they believe they need to if for example they got 15 vehicle points they could choose to spend the £1.5 mil to get those removed and same with driving licence. At the moment, if you're caught disqualified driving, you then HAVE to receive a minimum of 6 hours (360 months) in prison according to police procedures which I think is ridiculous. (if I have my facts wrong, I apologise,e but it's just what I've been told) if you where able to pay your points off you no longer have to go through the extremely difficult procedure of getting your license unbanned which in my eyes is also too "realistic" in the sense of needing to not commit any driving offences and be more or less legal which when you are playing a game and want to play a criminal character this is just too excessive but I will save the talk on the process to get unbanned for another time.

------ Points Get Removed After a certain amount of time ------

I think that if points where removed after say 2 months of receiving them it would improve the system a lot while I believe my first idea is better, I think this would be a viable compromise. This would mean that if you are committing a series of crimes over 2 months, you should have the expectation that some repercussions will be coming your way, although you have minimal control in comparison to my first idea. This would improve the Driving licence system more than the vehicle points but any improvement would be great for the server IMO.

------ The amount of Points that police can give is reworked ------

I believe this suggestion would be harder to do cause the dev team would have to go through and change the amount of points each crime comes with as a reproduction aswell as POLCOM and staff would also have to meet about a balanced amount and would take a while to take place hence why I have left it till last. I believe if points for both were halved, then it would be a lot more viable for the server once again, IMO. I think this would improve the server and the points systems but not as much as the previous suggestions or better yet if this was potentially paired with my first method which IMO would be perfect.

Pros (all IMO)
- gives crim a bit of a break from the almost crippling nature of points
- balances server
- hopefully reduce hostility between players that play both crim and fed

Cons
-Dev work
-probably a lot of meetings

In conclusion, these is my thoughts on how we could improve the Points system and hope that if anyone disagrees, we can have a civil conversation about it.:)

+1 I AGREE with this and 100k a point doesnt sound too unfair either. Very balanced imo!

I agree, i got 15 points on my BF400 yesterday for doing pretty much nothing xd

+1

The points where added to give a feel of 2nd hand car market. more points means cheaper car since this server doesn't use the cars gaining mileage this making parts wear etc

The points are a RP issue. But it's pretty simple courts didn't like the rocket league shooting that's why they made them points like they are.

I agree on this hence why i think it would be better for people who would prefer to play as a criminal to have options other than staying legal for IMO too long of a time to try and get licence unbanned ext. This would provide more avenues for people to go down without having to get minimum 6hrs in prison everytime they rp as the criminal which we as police need in the server to enjoy ourselves.

on this I feel the forced 1st Person has already tackled a lot of the issues with using cars during fights as much as there is still a fair few car fights there has been a massive increase in decamps and set-ups so IMO the points should be able to be paid off and if there is a mass surge in car fights as a result then raise the price you need to pay.

But I appreciate the feedback nonetheless

From a criminal side I fully back a way to get around this, however it does go against what adding the points was set to achive.

They wanted to stop or make people think twice before using their vehicle, yes it would be a good money sink. But £100k per point for example in @Barry C would be £1.5M for a bike not worth that much. If you make it less per point you take away the fear factor of using vehicles in fights which was tried to move away from.

Surely that with saying that £1.5M would be too much still keeps the fear factor while having the option available to them to pay the pts off over time, but I do understand the point but in my eyes the £1.5 would be paid off like 200k a week so potentially introducing a cap for how many pts you can pay off a week could be a decent idea so people stop committing mass crime streaks in the same vehicle would be unwise.

This or a vehicle can have a total of 5 Points removed, increasing to a potential 25 Points over the lifetime of a vehicle before it is scrapped.

I personally think a weekly limit would be sufficient but if that proves to be too lenient, I believe the 5pt total limit could be a good backup.

People arent getting points weekly and have multiple cars. I just worry that it would cause people to rotate vehicle as they would quickly get all their vehicle on 0 points and set us back to square 1.

Considering the fact that if you shoot out of your car at police its 15 pts that would take 7.5 weeks to pay off so if they did rotate cars they would be an extraordinary backlog. And the 2 pt limit I meant was total not just per car so even if they did rotate once you get 15 pts if you do that for 2 cars that's not only 3 mil and 15 weeks to pay off, meaning that its very expensive and are still at risk of losing the car cause 1 maybe 2 more incidents and the car is gone.

IMO this seems very balanced if anything, it might be too strict id consider going up to 4pts total across all cars per week.

Oh ok, I interpreted that as 2pt per vehicle per week. Yeah thats fair I guess.

have you considered bringing this up in RP with the courts?

none of the above really requires dev time(or even staff time) to become a thing
I believe this suggestion would be harder to do cause the dev team
i could be wrong, but i believe judges can update them on their "PNC"

The primary thing i wanted from this suggestion is the ability to pay your points off per week would that not require dev work to make a reality?

i can almost assure you the courts have a fund if we(the CoC) has one, pay a judge up front and they can remove points

Ah fair play never thought that would be a possibility ill try and raise a case with the judiciary then thanks for your feedback
