Drugs 2025 Q & A

at peak times, LSD was selling for around 1500 per (with the old system). considering it would take around an hour to craft, plus another 30 mins to sell, that works out around 100k per hour. people make more doing bins. so bins inflation is worse technically

what would be your suggestions?

Hoztones actually solved a much bigger problem. With hotzones there is no drug meta anymore. Why would you craft LSD if you would make way more money with cocaine?
(if you answer "roleplay" - lets not talk about money/hour)
The old system promoted 1 or 2 drugs being sold - those being the ones that required the least amount of work and sold for the most amount. First was cocaine, and when it went close to extinction the meta swap to indica. Why go all the trouble in crafting mid-grade meth is you can buy 1k cocaine for XX pounds, spend time cutting it and sell it for more?
By not having a meta drug, every drug is now worth crafting and this can promote decent RP opportunities for smaller groups.

About the costs:
Is paying the 35k to get information the issue? - Keep in mind, this is what they pay to obtain the information, be thankfull you are not charged more. What if this was open to the public? We would get more money out of the economy, yet wouldnt solve the issue.

Is being taxed the issue? - Even with the old system, the gang controlling the turf could tax you, so this didnt change much 🤷‍♀️

Hotzone is a case of early bird gets the worm. Make friends, make connections. For sure you and your group aim for eventually become whitelisted I assume? What a great RP opportunity there is for you guys to exchange favors. You can craft for that gang and they can help you out. - I've seen this happening in game.

Quickly about the "old system".
First of all, the "old system" was not working as it was suppose to. It was over calculating stuff and way too much money was being injected into the economy.
We had players dm'ing us saying "we are litterally printing money at this point" - yet we let it stay for a while.
Let me give you some peace in saying that, even with the old (and broken) system making way too much money, we are currently around 70 to 75% of those values - which I would say is pretty impressive considering how broken it was before.
Something that I honestly wasn't expecting, but it seems people missed it.
When before the message would says "sold ... for 200(600)" now it says "sold ... for 800" - It is the same number, just added together.

Drug benches

Police know of most if not all open drug benches well if it not intentional or if it is they seem to be around them way more and with needing to take a decent bit of materials into the bench with you to make a decent batch a lot of the time you will be caught cause the police camp the bench so gangs will either Protect this bench with their whole gang or do it at 4-5am

I suggest a switch up with benches move them around and aswell some gangs have high and mid grade meth benches where others don’t even have any which makes it more of a unfair advantage they can safely make drugs in their turf but other gangs have to go out and risk it.

I also suggest.
- each gang get 1 bench of their desired drug
- 1-2 of each drug bench is also open and useable by anyone so even the upcoming gangs can start their drug empire because at the moment mid and high grade meth is locked to certain WL groups

Some of these are being worked on already.

In this change https://www.roleplay.co.uk/threads/gta-rp-server-development-changelog.394686/post-2504514 named "Various Drug Changes" it appeared to us that in the grand total of everything from street cred, notoriety and hotzones we ended up being a bit tooooo kind and we hit some numbers that quite simply where a bit to high.

In these changes we pulled some numbers back to a more comfortable area and we will continue to monitor this forward.

More changes in different areas are being worked on : )

W changes overall imo, added some life back into drugs/gang stuff.

I have limited experience of these changes due to not having a full crim character, but I have some feedback from what I've seen of it:

1) Weed hotzones are probably a bit OP. They're not always available obviously but when they are you can make huge amounts of money off of something that costs next to nothing to obtain. On the flipside to this it is very nice for newer characters to be able to access that kind of opportunity.

2) Once you get to a certain amount of street cred (seems like it might be 5), when selling weed you only gain a tiny fraction of street cred for it which is fine, because you should need to progress your activities to continue to level up, however the penalty for failing to sell weed remains the same, meaning you have to make 10 successful sales to make up for 1 failed sale - the effect of this is a net loss of street cred when selling weed, even in a hotzone.

I understand selling low tier drugs shouldn't continue to boost your rep easily past a certain point, but it feels quite punishing to actually lose street rep selling them above a certain level. Level 5/100 also seems quite low to begin tapering off entry-level gains imo.

3) Low-grade meth. I have almost no drug manufacture knowledge because my character isn't involved with it but it seems that most people don't make low grade because it's 'not worth it' vs mid or high which need some of the same ingredients AFAIK. Perhaps a slight buff to the recipe to adjust?

That's about it, thanks.
