Emergency lights not illuminating surroundings

Emergency lights don't illuminate the environment around the vehicle if the engine of the vehicle is turned off, which it is when you jump out. Workaround is to hold down F when getting out as it keeps the engine running. Minor issue really, just leaves scenes looking a bit dull sometimes.
