I can already tell this is going to be an unpopular opinion however.
In the city right now it seems every can get guns, their really cheap and crims have really easy access to them (especially if in an OCG)
It feel like most situations involving police end in a gunfight or start off threats of a firearm which for a UK themed city doesn't make much sense.
I do like guns being in the city as it does make for some interesting RP however, situations are becoming expected.
And yes you could argue that "well the police have guns" and realistically, i think we have too many of these. Not every officer in the uk has a gun but ftoc rates in city are pretty high.

Whats the suggestion?
Lower the access to guns for everyone within the city; crims and police. Realistically if police seize a gun off someone they wouldn't have another 10 laying around their gaff. And from the polices side - a firearms incident normally involves firearms units as officers with FTOC irl arnt that common.

Pros?
-More variation to rp situations
-Easier for new players
-Makes for fairer fights etc

Cons?
-People dont have as many guns
-Dev Work
-Grumpy police and crims cos they lost their gun

fights are police running around with head armour yelling 1 dead and speedboosting anyway, dont know how removing gun supply makes things fairer in the slightest

Im saying lower it for both sides, if crim supply is lowered so should officers with guns. Its not a one way change like

Last time crims offered to nerf themselves when they could also obtain headarmor under the condition cops would have less headarmor and that still hasnt happened

I see your point of view but it also shows it’s quite limited and missing a hell of a lot of information. The city has had a huge nerf in terms of quantities of guns and variety of. and it’s been happening since November 2024 and still has not returned to how it originally was.

From a police standpoint, it is annoying being in constant gun fights.. you have a great chase, great interaction and bam shot.


I've been trying to go out on patrola without my gun tbh. I will always reward RP that prioritises planning, enjoyment and diversity rather than instant gun fights like
"Keep following you'll get shot" and all of a sudden multiple shot gun and automatic weapons are shot.


That would also require police to limit the amount of rifles carried and ftoc officers carrying.

Though, I believe last time we tried having fire arms keep their weapons in the safe, it got heavily exploited
