So after about a year or so playing just a police character, I decided to create a crim character. Before this, I didn't really see it from both sides. Now after a year of having a crim I get a better picture.
There have been many incidents where police and even G6 just shut down a situation even when you try and put in the effort. I am not saying every police officer or G6 does this. But I feel people who just have a police character are more prone to do this. Maybe they are worried or scared of what may happen, as when I just had a police character, this was how I sometimes thought, always worried of what may happen.
I will give an example from last night, as this is fresh in my mind. I tried for over an hour to create a decent RP situation where I was cleaning the shelves in the pharmacy, and I was on my own to start with; a few people turned up but left after some time. I broke the case the first time, and when police and G6 turned up, I said a bunch of people went in and smashed the place up. Then I changed into a bin outfit and got my rat loader out about 20 minutes later and played the part of being hired to clean the broken items and was told by my boss I need to go clean these pharmacies. After the 2nd attempt, I was told I needed a work order. This is something not everyone can go create themselves, including me. I plead with police and G6. So, I went away and asked someone if they could make me one (in-game), as I am not good with stuff like this. They told me to give them 10 or so minutes, so I went back and tried again, and when G6 came, I told them the work order is being sorted as we speak but again was sent away. So, once I got this work order, I went back; this must have been the 4th or 5th time. But this time they said it wasn't signed
. The effort was made, and I felt the RP was good, but the RP wasn't awarded. So, on the final attempt, G6 and police showed up, and I was trying to plead with them, saying I am going to lose my job if I don't get this job done. And also the missus would kick me out, as I haven't been bringing in money to support our family, but again was being shut down. Once G6 left, I was still pleading with police. After some time, they were held up at gunpoint by two of my mates, as they knew what I was doing and knew I had been trying for over an hour, so they ended up coming down. Which isn't the best-case scenario, as it seems the only way to be able to do a pharmacy is to get a hostage, or if you're lucky, they don't turn up. But the pharmacy wasn't robbed, and when they were being held up as I claimed, I didn't know who they were. I was told to leave, then they left with the police being unharmed, and we all went our separate ways. I ended up getting off about 5 to 10 minutes later, as there was no point in continuing to try.
I logged on today and had someone come up to me and give me 30k. I was like, "What's this for?" He said, "I saw the effort you were putting in yesterday at the pharmacy, but they weren't having it.
Another incident the other day: we had a little car chase that then turned into a fun foot chase. There was a police officer literally right behind me; he could have hit me with his baton, but he didn't, as I guess he was having fun chasing me. He could have even maybe tackled me; that's how close he was. But then I was beanbagged, shutting down any fun, and this put me in a bad mood and ruined my evening. Then I was punished like I just had a shoutout with police and killed a bunch of people.
Having a police character and seeing both sides of life, I tend not to be so quick to shut down a situation and let it play out unless they are heading to water or the chase has been going on for ages, and they have been changing cars or if life is at risk.
These are just a few of many. I see people in OOC moaning about police shutting down situations (me included) too quickly, so I thought I would make a post about it to get everyone's views on this. This was more aimed towards police than G6. But on the occasion of last night, G6 was involved and was the party I was interacting more with.
Unsure if a post like this has been made before but if it has, feel free to link it
