Huge deal on Kingston 240gb SSD 74% off

Sounds a bit dodgy to be honest, 170 pounds without discount? they probably raised the price drastically a while ago just to make it look cheap with the 74% off headline. It's an ok deal but not nearly as great as it might look at first glance.
I have one of these and that is a steal for that price I would buy some more tbh. The sale is also on the 480gb one. http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00FXJWO5C/ref=twister_B00GC2HWSS?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

I also paid £86 for mine.

The RRP on all Amazon stuff is the RRP at launch, not current pricing...

£44 is pretty good for a 250gb SSD.

We pay £70 for 250GB Samsung Evos at work.

Quote from wikipedia:

The manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP), list price or recommended retail price (RRP) of a product is the price at which the manufacturer recommends that the retailer sell the product. The intention was to help to standardise prices among locations. While some stores always sell at, or below, the suggested retail price, others do so only when items are on sale or closeout/clearance.

This is what amazon are doing here, they're only showing the Old/high RRP on items that are on a major sale to make them seem more attractive.
These simmilar products that are not/barely in sale definitely don't show the RRP from launch:

Having said that, this deal is definitely good, regardless of Amazon's business practices.
