Mobile Phone = Physical Item

Add the mobile phone as a physical item within your inventory that you have to have on you in order to actually use your phone. 

This would add so much to situations. For example; when you're in police custody. you can currently use your phone and call/text/talk to whoever you want. Even tho this isn't allowed, some actually do this. If your phone is removed from you.. this isn't possible

My only thoughts would be for new/inexperienced players. Would it be possible that you spawn in / respawn with it and don't need to buy it? Could you get it back automatically when released from prison? Would officers "keep hold of it" during questioning/custody and give it you back? I don't like the idea of having to "buy" a new phone after everytime in custody

Spawning in for the first time or if you respawn having it isn't the worst idea . You'd get back what ever you went into prison with (that's legal) ofc. and yes, officers would hold onto your phone when in custody but give it back before released/sent into prison.

Was thinking of something like this, you should also be able to buy 2 varients, Smart phone and a Burner phone. 
(Burner phone would use the story prologue phone model) each of these would have different sim cards, different contacts and texts etc.
Burner phones would be limited to calls and texts on a pay as you go system, no apps such as twitter. 

When taken by another player phones would remain with the same chat/phone history allowing other players to check messsages of other should they get their hands on one, this allows for criminals to find out who is working with who, and police to investigate further. 

If you dont have a mobile phone on you then scattered across the map would be payphones which you can pay £2, manually enter a number in and phone it, this could also be used in a circumstance where someone wouldnt want a call on record.

If you get your phone robbed or you lose it somehow, you go buy a new one from a shop?  For sake of ease, ye it would have all the same data. Would be abit aids if you lost everything if you lost your phone.

Think this is a good solution to if you lose your phone. Means people need to remember to backup their phone and don't magically have all their info on a new phone, adds a bit of realism and not too much of a challenge if you just take 5 minutes out of your day to back up your phone
