Brief Summary: Making the server have a little bit more of a british feel.

Detailed Suggestion: So as we all know the server itself is british themed and would love to see additional items that are british based like road signs, traffic lights, pellican crossing lights, road works signs, british reg plates etc. The list goes on. I have seen this is other servers and think it does add that british feel to it and have came across the mod its self which i will paste below. Now im no dev and have no idea how eay this could be implimented but seeing as you already have british speed cameras i think a talented set of devs like yourselfs could do it 😉 It would also be great to see some more British based jobs as well like having an amazon prime delivery job which is based in paleto which again i have seen in another server and works really well. As i said i will post links to the ideas ive seen work well and i think we can make this british server have a more british feel to it. There are tons of britih based vehicles as well that could replace job vehicles as well like having an RAC lorry for mechanics replace gruppe 6 vasn with G4S vans. I know alot of this would take a lot of redoing whats currently in place but as i said a more british feel would be amazing. the server itself at the moment is fantastic but with the talented dev team i feel they could make it the best british themed server there is. I have posted a few links below of ideas that could be added or replaced certain things.

The Pros: Makes the british based server feel more british not only for looks but for jobs aswell

The Cons: i cant think of any cons for making it more british.

Does this suggestion change balance on the server ? no

I think a few of these are Incredible because of the amount of job opportunities It could open up In the process. Airport work, G4S work, Amazon work. So much RP to be had there.

I couldnt agree more about all of this, i was just talking to a friend of mine about it today. The server is British themed but doesnt truly feel that way with the amount of guns and the lack of British content. Some adding to this would prove great

Yeah that was my initial reaction, these resources sadly contain a lot of private companies copyrighted content.. which you will notice we try and steer aware from. (Food and drink item names, Tweedle etc)

 
I agree with the idea, why not "adjust" the names of the company to fix copyright/trademark issues and have it fit in more with the theme of Los Santos? Scamazon, Fleabay, Boogle etc

There are currently other servers that have these in place though and seeing as the server is free it shouldn't matter surely?  I dont knownthere are other British based servers that have a huge british feel to them that i think this server could benefit from

I’m obviously not involved in those sorts of discussions, but based on the fact they removed all other copyrighted brands over the last few months, I’d doubt they’d add more

I mean its understandable if that was the case but with the amount of servers running stuff like this i dont see the issue as long as your not makiong any money off of that product but who knows either way would still be amazing to see in the server 😂

 
Does this mean we'd get Jaffa Cakes and Maynards Winegums? (or some variation due to previously mentioned copyright)

It's not necessarily about the money. It's about the fact it's being put into Grand Theft Auto; a game centred around violence, crime, drugs etc. For small servers they probably won't pick up much attention but RPUK is a larger community.

Consider this - popular streamer, 200 people watching. Starts delivery jobs, but then runs over a chap in an Amazon van, blood all up the side. Takes body before dumping them in the Amazon factory. Makes some kind of 'Prime' joke. This clip is cut, edited and posted on LadBible, now has millions of views, it's now being copied. Granted a bit worst case scenario, but lets be honest isn't impossible. Roleplay communities I've run in the past have ended up in the news.

I agree some creative licence on some company brands would be good.

The only issue with the number plates is you can't have both yellow and white and can look a bit odd on some vehicles. Plus the text is blurry on medium settings which many run because of texture memory issues.

One of the persons who made the roadsigns I know quite well and have used a number of times in the past. Two issues with those - 1) you end up with really random replacements around the map (like police road closed signs at roadworks) and all the road signs are indestructible so if you clip one in your car, even the small ones, it's likely to write your car off. Some also have some weird LOD issues so not visible too well from a distance.

Overall I think some of the mods could work if they don't have real company names but similar. The easiest way is retexturing the mods here with permission of the author.

Also, more negativity I'm afraid.. all these mods require more memory thus could see more texture loss.

Any efforts to negate that we're in an American city I'm all for. Vehicles alone are already iconic and great to see, definitely adds a little magic. 😁 Same goes for outfits like the police ones. Was great to switch into it when I first signed up.

In terms of what goes in, I don't feel strongly. I guess small but common things are always great. Just no dropping Big Ben on a beach somewhere... I'm sure the staff can assess what options are available and put in what they deem sensible.

Unfortunately, that is not how copyright and trademarks work. The property rights are there for everyone big or small.
