In your own words, please type why you think you were banned.
I was banned along with the rest of EXP for advertising the group’s TeamSpeak server to another person. At the time, we were told by the leaders (not Jeffery, he was in Spain) that the admins on AltisLife.co.uk were completely fine with EXP having a TeamSpeak server as long as it was used for Altis Life exclusivley. I am not sure if this is true or not, but at the time I trusted the leaders of EXP, and took their word for it. Obviously, at the time of the EXP’s blanket ban the TeamSpeak server was becoming more of a community, and I believe that this was because many members who became inactive in ARMA still wanted to play with their “friends” in EXP. I really only played Altis Life at the time (mostly with other gang members), and was really only on the EXP TeamSpeak server when I was playing Altis Life because we (EXP members) were required to. On the night of August 15th, I was looking to do a Salt run with another gang member. I wasn’t allowed to give away the password to any of the EXP rooms on the AltisLife.co.uk TeamSpeak, and his gang did not have any rooms at the time. On top of that all of the public rooms were full. I thought that because the leaders said that the admins of AltisLife.co.uk said it was cool and that there were really no other options availible, it was fine to use the EXP TeamSpeak aswell.
What have you been upto in the last 6 months+ ?
After I was banned I tried some other Altis Life communities, and swiftly realized that RP was truly “optional” there. Since September I have mostly been focusing on my schoolwork and, whenever I had free time (not often) I tried some King of the Hill and Wasteland. I did enjoy these, but I really felt that I was missing the role play aspect of this server. Role play is what I enjoy most about ARMA, and nothing compared to the Role Play I have seen on AltisLife.co.uk.
Why do you want to return ?
I would like to return to RolePlay.co.uk because of many reasons. The first being that this is a community that encourages role play over firefights. I really miss being able to engage in an single role play session from server restart to restart, thinking of new ways to roleplay the HM Treasury, or even just chilling in Kavala knowing that I am not going to be robbed with a five second countdown. I have had a plethora of memories made in this community, and am hoping to be given the opportunity to be able to make some more!
Why should we unban you ?
I made an honest mistake. It was naive of me to think that what another member of the community told me was above the rules. I also trusted some people that I shouldn’t have, and they showed their true colors in TeamSpeak after we got banned. It was a huge mistake to advertise the TeamSpeak address to another member, but I can assure to you that I did not do it with the intention of poaching members away from the community. I did it because I was told for months that the admins were okay with it, and because I was trying to find a room in TeamSpeak and after looking through the AltisLife.co.uk TeamSpeak over and over again with all viable rooms full - the EXP TeamSpeak server seemed like my only option. Looking back, I realize that it would have been better to wait for one of the rooms be free. I also did not change my name in TeamSpeak to anything offensive. I went AFK for 5 minutes and when I came back all of their names were changed. Because I felt that some of the people in the room below mine might message me or need me I stayed on TeamSpeak, however I muted myself because I did not want to take part in any of those activities. I did not change channels however because I didn’t feel like talking to anybody, so it wouldn’t really make a difference what room I am in.
